Somebody Please Do the Right Thing
January 26th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |As much as I hate to admit it, our government is completely broken. Both parties are completely guilty of voting along party lines. There is no way, none, zero, nada that either party has a monopoly on the Truth and what’s best for our Nation. Yet, few, if any of our elected officials are willing to split from the party line and do the right thing. Two posts here at BIO say it all, Proof of the Obvious and Cooper’s Diary Entry, Preventable Death is not an Appropriate Consequence. Both are examples of the idiocy running (ruining maybe) our country. Help us please, our nation is going to fail if our leadership continues these partisan shenanigans.

Kinky Friedman, who is running for governor as an Independent in Texas was on Jay Leno. He is one of the last real Texas “characters.” It was quite funny how he was attacking both the Democrats and Republicans calling them the Crips and Bloods. I don’t know if he will actually get elected, but then again who would have thought that Arnold Schwarzenager or Jesse “The Body†Ventura could get elected? The political system is broken. I believe it is broken because people have stopped listening to each other and they are emotionally attached to polical parties, which means that they are unwilling to discuss issues and come to solutions that work for America instead of the special interests that support the two major political parties.
