So Much for the Moral Highground

January 30th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |

We’ve are waging a war of choice, we have been torturing “detainees”, we are spying on Peace Activists and now the news is out that we are imprisoning family members of “known Insurgents”. That’s right, if you can’t get’em to talk after hours of “pain just short of organ failure”, strap the electrodes on their sister, or son, or wife…. Jesus’ General has more

So now you believe what the military says all of a sudden. So if a soldier gets prison for toruring with humility shouldn’t these guys who”beat a 12 year old girl” get the firing squad? If this really happened wouldn’t it be front page of all your favorite newspapers?

I do believe the holding of hostages is either a) against the Geneva Convention (though that hasn’t stopped us yet); b) a war crime; or c) all of the above.  We don’t like it when hostages are taken by the insurgents, so we go and do the same thing?

    Attention!  Irony alert!

    TOS,

If you go to the link, you will find that this has been reported on beginning in 2003.  Once again, we stoop to the level of the enemy…

Just like the post last week…..

“He who fights with monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster…. Because when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.” – Nietzsche

This is too much.  I posted on this same thing too.  I guess we have to show that we’re better than Saddam Hussein — by imitating him and using his tactics.
