Fear, Demographics and Conservatives from Jesus’ General

February 23rd, 2006 | by Paul Merda |

I love the General! He is one of my favorite bloggers. Here, The General discusses the fear of manly Conservatives as shown by the types of ads that run on some of the biggest Conservative sites. While advertisers on Liberal blogs and sites tend revolve around selling anti-Bush T-shirts and other such paraphenalia, the Conservative sites sell fighting techniques, how to pick up chicks and how to get rich quick schemes. Makes you wonder what is really wrong with these people? How insecure are they at every level? Fear of others, fear of being alone and fear of being poor seems to be the Demographic the advertisers are targeting with Conservatives, it also seems that one goes with the other….

I am surprised I would of thought conservative blogs would of been filled with the following:

Penis enlargement, Viagra 4/sale, secret porno sites starring Jeff Gannon, powerfull anti-depressants, become happy with your performance! etc. No offense to my normal neo-con friends, only kidding. LV

It is an interesting thing though.  Marketing/Sales uses people psychological weaknesses against them to sell products.  They try, especially on the Web, to target the sale of items to the demographic most likely to buy whgile at the same time convincing those who normally wouldn’t that they should buy.  Why is it that these are the Ads on conservative sites?  I really wish I had some access to the data these guys had to determine that Newsmax (for one instance) readers want/need these kinds of products.  What is the determining factor?  Fear?  Is it something else.  Psychology has always intrigued me….
