The Hue & Cry
February 27th, 2006 | by Ken Grandlund |Bob P. over at the Hue & Cry writes a great post today and wonders why it is that we never seem to get to the bottom of one Adminsitration blunder before another takes over the headlines.
“Before commenting on the topic du jour - you know, those troublesome “ports operations” that have grabbed everyone’s current attention - I first have to wonder if we’re in danger of losing the momentum of righteous indignation at the Bush Administration that seemed to exist just a month ago, given that so many more egregious issues of government corruption, incompetence, and illegality (and our collective outrage at them) seem to have dropped off the radar.”
Go over and read the rest for yourself.
I’m wondering if the continuoous amount of bungles and outright incompetencies are being orchestrated just to keep an angering public off balance, never wondering what to be more incensed about, thus never focusing on and completing an investigation of the latest egregious action.

You libs are the exact same way. Look. I changed two words and the meaning changes completely to describe exactly what you’re doing.

Actually Kevin, you changed three words. Maybe you ought to spend some time learning how to count. And read, apparently, as it’s obvious that you did not read the article I directed readers to.
If you had, you’d have left a comment that was substantive instead of meaningless word play. I guess in-depth thinking skills have been cut from your school curriculum in favor of the NCLB teaching to the test.

I changed two of your words and added one of my own. I changed “bungles” to “conspiracy theories” and “incompetencies” to “falseties”. Looks like you’re the one who needs to learn how to count. But then again, your in-depth skills have probably been stunted by liberal “teachers” who probably taught you how to make a protest sign instead of teaching you regular skills, so I don’t blame you.

But you still haven’t read the article, have you. Or answered the real question that is posed. If changing a word or TRHEE is your way of offering thought or debate, you’ve got the whole neo-con thing down pat.
Now unless you care to offer some real thoughts or insights on the topic at hand, practice your mad-libs on another post. After all, I’ve got protest signs to make and can’t waste time quibbling over your creative (ha!) writing skills.

Hmmmm… makes you wonder what have we the people unleashed. Bill Maher suggested the Iraq was better under Sadam than under the US. We all know Sadam was a bad man, no question. However, he maintained order with an iron fist. Sunnis and Shiites have been enemies and remain enemies. Britain created a false state combinining nations including Kurds as well. Sectarian violence will continue I wish this was not the case. Time to withdraw. I know most will disagree, but frankly I don’t give a dam. LV

Ken, the typical reichwinger argument against the serial tragedy that are the W, Rove and Co domestic and foreign policy actions is to deflect by attacking the critic. Doing so still does not work to change the minds of the critic nor work to ameliorate the situations generated by the W, Rove and Co. It’s easy to attack the character of an individual as the good ol’ boy Kev does. What differentiates a quality thinker is their ablity to sift through the morass of rhetorical spin and present viable solutions.
I’m thinking about the difference between high quality leaders in government and leadership that results in dissasterous results. At least the former accepts responsiblity for their mistakes and then seeks a solution to rectify the situation. The latter works to mollify the opinions for political gain and does nothing about fixing the situation becuase they gain, personally, from it. This is why I think there is such a deplorable differnce of opininons about the UAE ports deal between the W, Rove and Co (those that think its a great and fatastic idea) and the American people (close to 65% feel that it is a bad move).
A solution here would be to stop the deal and give it to another company - maybe say, a US based one. What’s the harm in doing that? What’s the benefit of continuing with the UAE?

Geez Ken, Kevin might be smarter if you let him have a school voucher instead of attending your socialized “educational” system. By the way how do you spell “three”?
Um… Kevin brings up a good point but windspike bring up an even better one! Aside from the “reich” comment being in bad taste, these statements about “high quality” leaders:
“At least the former accepts responsiblity for their mistakes and then seeks a solution to rectify the situation. The latter works to mollify the opinions for political gain and does nothing about fixing the situation becuase they gain, personally, from it.”
..are exactly what’s wrong with the left. When a leftie breaks out recent Democratic leaders you hear names like Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Barbara Boxer and Barak. ALL LIARS!!! (Except for maybe Boxer, she’s just uptight) Clinton and Kennedy are the “latter” in what Windspike is talking about. They lied to fix mistakes. What was that document on her nightstand? Obviously she hadn’t been in bed for a while because her husband, Bill was busy banging ugly broads! Kennedy chose to drown his ladies in an Oldsmobile…

Windspike- Well said.
Steve- Yeah, I missed a beat on my typing (as did you for that matter-see if you can find it), but I don’t remember giving our current school system a round of applause for anything here, in fact, just the opposite. So I don’t know what your “voucher” comment has to do with anything.
As for your assertion about Democrats and Republicans, who’s in power? Who is telling the big lies? Why are you stuck in the past? “Leaders” are not abundant in either party Steve, but die-hard partisan followers sure seem to be, especially on the right, who are more likely to follow their leaders down off a cliff than those on the left. Perhaps it is because those on the left can figure out when their leaders are lying bags of dirt. Not many here cling to the skirt of Hillary or the lapels of Kennedy or lap up and defend every move they make.

I hate when people point out spelling as part of their arguement! And just remember spell check doesn’t always work, run this through spell check and let me know what you find.
Sorry Ken, had to get that in there.
