Fiscal Hypocrisy
March 17th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |The party of small government, the party of “he who governs least governs best”, the party who called for the Balanced budget amendment, the party of the line-item veto looks very much like a bunch of hypocrites these days. With Federal spending out of control, they have been hunkering down in the trenches trying to find a way to make themselves look good to Conservative voters while actually doing nothing to stop the bleeding of our Treasury. The GOP plan, hey, let’s try and cut all of those Social Programs that people need because of our fiscal mismanagement both of the Federal Budget and of the Economy as a whole. Guess what, cutting social programs is just not floating with those folks refered to as Constituents. While Dear Leader tries to cut Medicaid by $37 billion over five years, a GOP budget resolution has mysteriously been stripped of this cut because they lack the votes to pass it. At least the Dems are honest, they want your money and they plan to spend it but the GOP has been telling all of their voters bald-face lies, and yet they still have support. What ever happened to the Moral Values bunch? Isn’t telling the truth something a moral person does?
