Who’s In Charge Anyhow?
March 24th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |I love to bash me some Republitards (thanks for the moniker Steve). The folly of Dear Leader and his administration are layed bare by now, isn’t it? The GOP has ruled the country (with an Iron Fist, no?) for 5+ years and what have they done?
Well recently it came to light that there are 11,000 brand spankin’ new mobile homes just sitting in a field in Hope, Arkansas waiting to get to those ravaged Katrina victims at the cost of $300 to $430 million dollars. They are just sitting in this field, why one might ask? Because FEMA regulations won’t allow them to be placed within a flood plain. WHAT! You, the Party of Small Government and less Goverment Waste spent upwards of $430 million on trailers that you knew you couldn’t use? Who’s to blame if you ask Dear Leader, but of course that evil of all evils, Big Government. Its not his incompetence or his subordinates incompetence that wasted somwhere around 1/3 of a Billion Dollars? Reminds me a quote I recently posted…

So they have the trailers and you would like them to put them where? Where there is no plumbing or electricity. No small undertaking but I’m sure if John Kerry were president he would of had it all figured out by now.
What does he suggest? That’s the problem. No one else seems to have a plan except to critize from an armchair.

The problem here is that 11,000 trailers were bought without any consideration where they would be planted….bad governing don’t ya think?

Yeah well you would think the Governor of NO would know their state and where they could put them. Poor planning on all levels, again.

Dumb FEMA regulation, really dumb.
I know a perfect way to use those trailers. You know, those neighborhoods that need rebuilding in New Orleans? You can build some decent permanent trailer parks in some sections. Note the “permanent.” Have the city be the landlord and gain much needed income now and in the near term. The city could then decide to sell the parks to citizens later.

tos- New Orleans is a city, not a state, and thus has no governor.
The point of the matter is that once again, in their haste to prove their compassion and competency, they stupidly rushed out and paid some corporation (probably in a no-bid situation) for the trailers and then stuck them in the middle of nowhere. There is plenty of land in this country they could have used, just ask George Bush- there is so much in fact, that he’s trying to seel it all off.
Instead, FEMA just blew it again- or DHS blew it- wasting 430 million in tax dollars and keeping people who have lost everything from getting back on their feet.

Okay Ken I meant Louisianna. But I guess Fema handled it no worse tha Clinton handled Floyd, where by the way there was no flooding. I’ll bet you said what a great job FEMA did then, huh?
