Bush Caught in Another Lie

March 1st, 2006 | by Dr. Forbush |

We now know that Bush told one whopper of a lie, when he said four days after the storm, “I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees”

The Associated Press obtained video footage and seven days of transcripts detailing the lack of response of George W Bush. At least with the Katrina disaster Bush can’t claim National Security to cover up his ineptitude. But, it is likely that this is pair for the course in Iraq, and Afghanistan. The Bush budget cuts to the National Guard were the subject of the 50 state governors over the weekend.

How many more of these things will it take before the remaining 34% of the Bush supporters will realize what an idiot he is?

Cranky, your hot link seems to be broken.  34% is a long way down from winning the 04 election and stealing the presidency to begin with, eh.

Why there are so many W, Rove and Co apologists is still beyond me.

Puke!!! So although Brownie is a crony is this shape up to be an administration steamrolling over one guy and making Mikie the scapegoat?

And the big question is, will anything come of this?

Ordinary citizens would have been charged with crimes already.

  5. By PhiloTBG on Mar 1, 2006 | Reply

Yeah my first reaction is that this is what we all already knew based on Katrina hearings, Brownie’s testimony and reports from Louisiana and Mississipi officials. Of course, now it’s on video tape, plain as day.

Nonetheless I heard a local newscaster (on NY1) describe the tapes as “footage that seems to suggest” the Bush administration had warning the levees might break. Yeah, that or live video footage of the warning. Either way, why quibble?

Steve O, you’re exactly right — an ordinary citizen would be facing charges, or at least Bill Clinton would be facing charges if this happened in his administration.

How much more will it take to outrage citizens of what is left of these United States?

Now it turns out Al Qaeda has infiltrated the UAE and Bush is just going along with the Port Deal despite this.

    From think progress

    http://thinkprogress.org/2006/03/01/aq-infiltrated-uae/

BREAKING: Al-Qaeda Infiltrated UAE Government, According To 2002 Letter

    Al Qaeda to the UAE:

“You are well aware that we have infiltrated your security, censorship, and monetary agencies along with other agencies that should not be mentioned.”

Thanks for fixing the link Doc. I am still wondering why the vociferous apologists are still there: “What’s wrong with Bush, he’s doing the right thing…” blah, blah, blah ginger, blah blah blah…wash rinse repeat.

the lies are so commonplace now, do they become the truth?  Not for the truth seakers.  Blog on BIO bloggers.  Blog on.

Who’s the bigger idiot: the idiot in power doing all the damage; or the idiots who are letting him carry on unhindered…?

From the Internet anagram server: WHITE HOUSE KATRINA = HA, AUTHORITIES KNEW.

Not sure ‘unhindered’ is quite fair. We are trying to put his ass out on the street, as are others.

First of all this is old news.

“We now know that Bush told one whopper of a lie, when he said four days after the storm, “I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees”

Here’s the spin on this. The morning after the storm every newstation and every newspaper in the country was reporting that “New Orleans Dodged the Bullet” “New Orleans Spared”. Even Shemp Smith was reporting from the streets there and seemed dissapointed that there wasn’t a drop of water on the streets. So CNN and co reported from Misssissippi where at that time most of the damage was. Fema is not a first responder. Unless you can prove to me that the fine Governor called Bush and the rest of the proper authorities and said I got a major problem and I can’t handle it and I need help (and we know for a fact that AFTER the leeves breached she still needed a day or two for her to make a decision)

Unless you wanted Bush to break the law and send in the National Guard and forceably remove all the residents at gun point because that is probably the only thing that he could have actually done. And if he did do that and the levees didn’t break you would be crying holy hell, even if they did break you would still be crying about how they did it. Im not saying Fema did a wonderful job,but let’s be realistic all the money they recieved over the years was diverted to who knows where. They knew for 5 days that this storm was coming and what could happen so if they knew this they should have demanded Fema come in and take over the evacuation.

If Clinton or the democrats were in the White House and the mayor and governor were republican you would be saying the complete opposite. This is so predicatable I wrote the book. I knew exactly what you were going to say before you said it.

    Hey TOS,

If Gore or some other democrat were in the White House and we were fighting the same Iraq war and “war on terror”, would you still agree with it?

  12. By tos on Mar 2, 2006 | Reply

    Windspike-

Of course I wouldn’t object I support my country and our military and even if I don’t support the democrats, I wouldn’t accuse them of lying and murdering in a time of war. I did not object or bad mouth Clinton when he was killing innocent civilians in the Balklands in a wag the dog scenario while there was absolutley no threat to this country. While I’ll agree that if there were a democrat president there would be some republicans saying the same thing that you are saying but you have the liberal media on your side.

  13. By windspike on Mar 2, 2006 | Reply

TOS, I understand your conclusion, but don’t follow your logic.  I have several questions for you:

What drives your mind to say we have a liberal media?

Would you accuse a person of lying if you caught a person outright in a lie even if s/he were the president of the USA?

What makes you think that, given the history of the Yugoslavian territories, that it wasn’t right to go in there to prevent world war III?

Also, If you buy the line that stopping dictators and genocide is good for Iraq, then why not in other regions of the world?

Were you blogging while Clinton was in office?  If so, would you have spoken your mind about any of his transgressions?

I think I will just have to disagree with you about your assessment of the media.  I would suggest that they are as conseravative as those dishing the propaganda.  And that is directly reflectived in how the media handles the Big Dick Cheney in his shooting accident where he nearly killed his buddy with friendly fragging fire.

Blog on TOS, my friend. Blog on.

First of all if you pick up any newspaper just look at the headlines. “What Bush knew about Katrina”,”Bush wiretapping American Citizens” All negative stuff, unless you know of a paper that stands behind him I would like to know because I’ve never seen one.

If I were blogging when Clinton was in office I would have cheered for him launching Desert Fox as I did when it happened because of the fact that Sadam was constantly shooting at our planes and not allowing the UN inspectors in. Too bad there weren’t more scandals then maybe he would have completed his mission for “Regime Change’ in Iraq and maybe he would have taken out Bin Laden when he first declared war on the US by attacking the Cole and our other interests overseas. Are these the same lies you are accusing Bush of?

  15. By windspike on Mar 2, 2006 | Reply

Okay TOS, when Bush said he was fully prepared and there is video widely accessable of him saying so and being briefed about the levee problem in NOLA, but then after the incident said that they had no idea that the levees would be a problem, is that a lie?  How do you spin that?

As to your media question - how about Fox News - any of their outlets?  Frankly, I don’t trust any of the MSM outlets - no matter their orientation.

This is why I read the text messages of all actions located at whitehouse dot gov to catch the W, Rove and Co in lies and hypocrisy as it happens.  It’s not hard, but tedious work.  Most folks want their “news” regurgitated and interpreted.  It’s not my fault that you don’t get good news.  You should find primary sources for proving your accusations.  That’s what I do.

Have a look at my recent post for an example.  Or, if you dare, tromp on over to my url for a look at some places where I suggest the hypocrisy is evidenced.

The plan was in place if the levees went! and guess what they didn’t go as expected so stop tryng o say it was another Bush lie. It’s just ridiculous! When they didn’t breach after the storm came and went that is what was meant by Bush and everyone saying because they didn’t go when the storm hit no one expected them to later. Good gravy! Since links are your thing here’s one for you.

TOS, thanks for the link.  Is Popular Mechanics your idea of a “liberal” media outlet?

  18. By tos on Mar 2, 2006 | Reply

No but it’s not as easy to find as are the Bush bash ones. And also how can Fox news be such a threat to you when you have CNN,MSNBC,CBS,NBC,ABC and the Times. Oh well you know what I mean.

All I am saying is all the other crap is always in your face and if it weren’t for talk radio and Fox there would be nothing else except all the other “Liberal Media outlets”(you know all the Anti-Bush stuff)
