GOP Refuses to Address Oil Companies

April 26th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |

The Libertarian in me says we should just leave the oil companies alone. They are just making money like every successful business in America. But the Socialist in me tells me that the $36 billion Exxon-Mobil made must be coming from somewhere and that somewhere is an exploited American public. I guess it doesn’t matter anyway, the GOP-led Congress is not planning to do much about the soaring prices of gasoline, why should they, they don’t give two shits about the average American. Instead of taking back some of the tax breaks the oil industry got in last year’s failure of an energy bill (if it was such a great energy bill, shouldn’t there be lower prices for the public?) as Dear Leader has suggested, there’s been silence from our Congress. If you ask the GOP who’s to blame, they of course refuse to take responsibility, they instead blame the Dems.

Should we increase taxes on the oil industry, should we leave them alone, or is there a better way?????
