American Aristocracy

Here’s some food for thought:

The two major taxes the Republicans are Hell Bent on eliminating are:

1) Taxes on Dividends
2) Taxes on Inheritance

If the Republicans succeed a person could be born into a wealthy family, never work a day in their lives, inherit millions of dollars, never pay taxes and have a huge income on the invested inheritance. They call people who are members of this class: aristocrats. As time goes on these people use the infrastructure created and maintained by the government and never pay a dime of taxes. They never work. And, they never contribute to our society.

Is this what we believe to be American values?

Same for rich Democrats in Marin County.  Oh wait, that’s right those kids (baby booming hippies) haven’t worked for years.

  2. Dr. Forbush Says :

    Steve,

You missed the point that those rich hippies pay taxes on their wealth and they are not lobbying congress to change the tax laws.

  3. Hank Says :

Ah yes, the rant of a socialist. Whenever Congress aims the tax arrow at the rich, they always miss their target and end up hitting the middle class.

  4. Dr. Forbush Says :

    Hank,

BTW I am not a socialist. And, the inheritance tax doesn’t touch the middle class. Unless the middle class is now in the top 1% of the US income…

    Doc 4brush,

If it smells like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. You argue semantics. Anyone who advocates higher taxes based on higher income is a socialist. You may call yourself liberal, progressive or Marxist, but it’s all the same. You are a socialist.

I challenge you to produce a logical explanation why tax payers who make more should pay a higher rate than anyone else. It is morally wrong to have uneven tax rates.

Hank I have just written a response to be posted soon called “Monetary Morality or Ethical Economics.”
