The More Things Change, The More They Remain The Same
August 6th, 2006 | by Omnipotent Poobah |“There is something very sinister to my mind in this Messopotamian entanglement. Week after week and month after month for a long time we shall have a continuance of this miserable, wasteful, sporadic warfare marked from time to time certainly by minor disasters and cuttings off of troops and agents, and very possibly attended by some very grave occurence.”
– Winston Churchill, 1920 to Prime Iminster David Lloyd George

OP
Your post in right on the mark. Our attempt at regime change is extremely similiar to what the British experienced after WWI and then again in the late 40’s. “Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.”

They’re both dicey. One killed brain cells by drinking like a fish and using cocaine and the other smoked cigars to kill his, thereby producing a shortage of oxygen to the brain.
I’ll go see what Barney the Dino has to say about all this and get back to you later
