America, NOT a Christian Nation

August 28th, 2006 | by Paul Merda |

Ever since the founding of this fine Nation, the American Taliban has been claiming that its a “christian Nation”. I have read and reread The Constitution and nowhere can I find any reference to christianity, perhaps its all in the interpretation….yeah right! Anyway, these fools have been arguing this for years and many times over they have had their asses handed to them in debate. But now, they are going so far as to argue that the Mayflower Compact is proof of our christian National Heritage without considering that this document was written 150 years before the founding of America while these people were under British Rule! Over at STACLU, they think this is a good arguement. The ignorance of the Talibangelists knows no bounds… Ed Brayton of Dispatches from the Culture Wars has more.

Half the people on the Mayflower were not even Puritans - and thought them dopey.

LOL!  Actually, those “other people” were a good part of the reason why there was a “compact” to start with.

The idiots on the Right don’t even know the history of their own philosophical forefathers.  Reminds me of when “president” Idiot used Dredd Scott as an example of “judicial activism!”  What a bunch of maroons.
