Bring It On!

I swear to God, if I didn’t comment here…

September 15th, 2006 | by steve |

If I had not started participating in this blog from the beginning when it was first started, I fully believe it’d be a total one-sided affair instead of just a one side leaning blog. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, well, maybe… I did… but really I think it is cool that we on the “right” have the right to post and comment in a “free society” if you will. (Unlike those “high and mighty” bitches over at the Daily Kos). However, this is only my opinion. But my opinion does matter…

No matter how you look at it, this country is going to shit. Really… It’s the opinion of that shit storm that we all debate, that I find most interesting. I listen to KSFO 560AM out of San Francisco nearly every morning on the way to the Bay Area. I then will get my other batch of Conservativism from Rush or from Sacramento’s Tom Sullivan in the afternoon. I bore the shit out of my co-workers if they ride with me because it is always talk, talk, talk.

I find people like Hannity, Rush and even that pompous ass O’Reilly to be fairly entertaining when they report politics. It can be the same on the other side with people like Bill Maher on HBO, who I find intelligent and funny, yet totally disagree with. Why we watch these kinds of people is really the mystery. There is no difference between Maher and Rush other than one loves America and the other doesn’t. (You be the judge)

And that’s the gist of where I am going with this post. If I come off a bit obtuse it’s because I find this whole BIO shit entertaining. The personalities of this blog are endless. I love knowing if I made someone squirm, fidgit, throw shit at the wall or express some endless response of words to refute my postion. Whatever it is, I find it entertainment. Something to have a high ball of whiskey with while you unwind from a day’s work. I put in 10-12 hours a day. A lot of driving and a lot of office stuff answering emails and shit. A computer with an internet connection is always with me. The suprising thing, I am not on here living it out… I am on maybe 10 minutes at a time usually in spurts because my mind never sticks to one thing. Or if I am on, I have 6 or 7 tabs across the top of my Mozilla browser, checking the score of the Giants game, checking stocks, reading, buying shit off Ebay or Amazon or iTunes.

Anyhow, I like to post something like this from time to time. I feel it is important to take a time out sometimes and let everyone know I respect your opinions no matter what… unless you are some beligerent hippy on a bike, rolling up on my Hummer.

    steve,

I think both probably love America, (yes, even Rush ;) ) just different things about America. Sort of like you and most people here, all love America, they just disagree about which parts are the best (exempting myself, obviously as America cannot hold a candle to the might and majesty of Her Majestys United Kingdom ;) ).

“There is no difference between Maher and Rush other than one loves America and the other doesn’t”–That is so narrow-minded and so Rovian Steve. I thought you were above such garbage. I do not remember any one from the left side of the aisle here calling Rush Limbaugh unamerican..only your side of the aisle uses that bullshit line.

    Dusty,

I was playing on words.  It’s a debatable statement.  It’s not real.  I intentionally wrote that in the middle of my post to see which way it would go.  I am not specific and who loves America and who doesn’t.  It could be either one depending on which way the coin is tossed.  That is if you wanna sit there and have a “Tastes great, less filling” light beer debate which a lot of bloggers want to do.

Well, since your a Bush fan..it surely wasn’t hard to figure out which one you put where on that list..

Everyone I know, regardless of party affiliation loves America steve..or they would move..or blow it up..

Yeah…  We aren’t seeing a mass exodus out of the country because Bush is President, like you see in other countries when they disagree with the person in power.  Probably because Bush was elected by the people and not just installed as leader by a coup or something.  People just aren’t fleeing to Canada.

It may be in dribs and drabs, but they are fleeing, Steve. My English friend moved back there (after 10 years away) last summer, supposedly for life - to live the American dream, as she used to joke.  Today she told me they’re done. They’re coming home next summer when her husband’s contract is up - if she can last that long. I should be happy, shouldn’t I? She’s one of my closest friends. But I’m not. This was their dream. It’s turned into a nightmare. It’s such a shame.

And it’s an even bigger shame that you can’t see what’s happening to your own country.

Steve..get a grip..as soon as he removes most of our rights there will be born and raised americans leaving. Or, as some folks think..he will cancel the 08 elections because of the GWOT..anything is possible as long as the Shrub and Cheney are in office.

He’s not gonna cancel an election… Jesus Christ… even the most hardcore GOP people don’t believe that!!!

England got rid of their stupid ruler, America has to wait an extra year. The WORST Administration in history. Deficits as far as you can see & WAR even after the low life GWB leaves. The next president has to clean up his illegal war.

I think it’s wonderful, and quite ballsy, of Steve and Craig to post here.  I try to get more conservatives to post here by going out and posting on conservtive blogs, but many conservative blogs tend to be censored and limited to to registered readers, and it seems that fewer and fewer conservatives are up for debate these days - a sign of the times, I suppose.

So BRAVO! to Steve and Craig and Emmet et al.  At least you guys have intellectual guts.

    JMJ,

Thanks. There’s nothing like a good debate.

    steve,

Though you may be a pain in my ass, you are an asset here at BIO.  I’m glad you and the rest of my opponents frequent the blog…  At the very least you guys force me to think about the issues from both sides.
