Ya’ know what amazes me - that there are people out there that would be stupid enough to put together such a useless website!

Its hard to take a guy down when his party controls both houses Tos..unless the ethics fairy finds something. I still say the Repubes would of hung Murthas ass from the highest tree if they had anything..and they didn’t…nuff said.

Well, Hoyer got the nod, Craig.  Looks like you’re going to have find some other strawman to rant about!  :)

Heh! If my rantings about Murtha were a strawman, Murtha would have won. He had the future speaker of the house fighting for him and he still got trounced. There’s got to be a reason for that. I can’t claim ALL the credit for it, of course, but we all do our part as best we can.

It just goes to show - at least the Dems think for themselves rather than goose-stepping in unison.

From things I’ve heard, Murtha definitely has some ethically challenged shenanigans in the not so distant past, so Democrat or not, he probably shouldn’t be in any real leadership positions. Especially if the Dems are serious about cleaning up the rathole we call Congress. You can’t expect to be taken seriously if you’re stumping for fellow pols who have murky dealings in the past. Proof or not, that’s just not a good way to start things off.

Impressions of impropriety are just as damning as actual corruption in the eyes of the voters, as well they should be after a decade of Republican slimeballs fouling up the air. Dems have to be extra cautious about their colleagues if they plan to make a difference and stick around.

That’s not to say that Murtha doesn’t have some good ideas, just that his tarnished image should keep him out of high-profile positions.

    Just my opinion though.
