A Ten Million Dollar Murder

December 19th, 2006 | by Craig R. Harmon |

Who was this guy Litvinenko that somebody used on the order of ten million dollars of polonium-210 to kill him?

These two friends mentioned in the article, sickened by smaller, non-lethal doses, but, well, emphasis on the NON portion of that phrase “non-lethal”. Traces of polonium-210 turn up in places they’ve been known to have been all the way back to October. Are they the murderers who took small doses to make it look like they were intended victims? Did some one follow them in their travels leaving behind traces of polonium to set them up as patsies?

These questions are trifles, though, compared with the real questions: where’d the polonium come from, how easy would it be for someone else to obtain the same stuff? I ask because the stuff is used in nuclear bombs and could be used in conjunction with a conventional explosive device in order to make a dirty bomb.

I mean if someone is selling ten million dollars worth of the stuff to assassins, why not to terrorists?

Sleep well.
