Remember that Muhammad cartoon where his headwear was drawn as a bomb?

Abu Izzadeen, “a British-born Muslim”, belatedly, agrees with that characterization. He puts it this way:

Prophet Mohammed’s message to nonbelievers is: “I come to slaughter all of you.”

“We are the Muslims,” said Omar Brooks, an extremist also known as Abu Izzadeen. “We drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere. That is Islam and that is jihad.”

In the “good news” column, contrary to what Sandyb would have you believe about Muslims being monolithic in their beliefs, there is this:

“These people, ladies and gentleman, have a good look at them. They actually believe if you kill women and children, you will go to heaven,” said one young Muslim who waved his finger at the radicals.

“This is not ideology. It’s a mental illness.”

Which side will win the debate within Islam? That’s the question…

I think most Muslims would fall into the latter.  Just as most Americans would rather not go about invading and dominating small, poor countries.

Surely, Jersey, as you say, most Muslims fall into the latter category. However, it took 19 of the former to cause billions of dollars of damage and to snuff out thousands of lives. The former, because of their willingness to leverage their paucity of numbers with grand outrages of violence, don’t need large numbers to dominate the debate. The very fact that they are willing to commit outrages against fellow Muslims if they lack sufficient verve in their devotion, let alone against those who vocally oppose their violent cause, pretty effectively silences the majority in the latter category. We treat and, if necessary, quarantine our insane. Far too many Muslims give their insane microphones to speak in their mosques.
