“We encourage the Legislature to take a second look at the statutory language if it is troubled by our ruling.”
January 20th, 2007 | by Craig R. Harmon |Let’s hope they do because life in prison for a consensual adulterous affair in furtherance of another felony seems a tad steep even to this former pastor. I mean, I know the commandment says, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” and the Old Testament recommended death for adultery but…well…we’ve pretty much moved beyond that point since Jesus refused to condemn the woman caught in adultery.
Man, they can be harsh in Michigan.

To think this could happen in “liberal”, “progressive” Michigan. Who’d have thunk it?
Bill Clinton should stay out of a Michigan for awhile. A long while.

Well, if nothing else, it shows the connection between the Ten Commandments and the history of our laws. Hard to argue there’s no historical connection when adultery is still a felony there. Maybe there SHOULD be a monument of the Ten Commandments at their court house.
Just kidding!
