Bring It On!

A Smart Move, I Think.

January 24th, 2007 | by Craig R. Harmon |

Kerry won’t run for president in ‘08.

I was going to say something snarky like, “He was for running for President before he was against it” but decided against it.

Yeh. I, too, would make a lousy candidate.

    Snarky is putting it lightly.

The fact that liberals bought into the smears put upon Kerry by Right-Wingers inspired by Lee Atwater is a shame.

Senator John Kerry is a great American and has been treated poorly by his own party which thought that because swift-boaters attacked him, that he was probably damaged goods and that a “new face” was needed.  We have bypassed one of the most passionate and compassionate of leaders the Democratic Party has known.

It has been a sad day for many of us Kerry supporters.

As we watch more and more Americans die in a pointless war, we shall all be reminded of his testimony during Vietnam and ask ourselves whether we want more Americans to be sent to die in a war that was a mistake.

    Snarky?

It is the kind of comment that facilitated the destruction of Senator Kerry’s Presidential aspirations.  It was Senator Kerry’s decency that led him to avoid going into the mud to wrestle with the Swift Boaters.  It was his sense of patriotism to this country that resulted him avoiding challenging the 2004 election.  And it was his selfless sacrifice that enabled him to disappear after the 2006 ‘botched joke’ episode.

Senator Kerry does not deserve snarkiness from anyone.

It is a loss for America more than Kerry’s loss, that we shall not have him as a possible candidate for President in 2008.
