Bring It On!

Welcome To Tal-Abama!

February 20th, 2007 | by Ken Grandlund |

A law that seems to have come straight from the Taliban is one step closer to becoming a reality in Alabama, this time thanks to a Democrat.

A federal Court of Appeals recently upheld a 1998 Alabama law that was the underpinning of an anti-obscenity law pushed on the people by state Senator Tom Butler, a Democrat. Butler’s law would ban the sale of any device whose main purpose is to stimulate human genitalia- in other words, Butler wants to ban dildos, vibrators, or any other mechanical sexual aid. (the law also includes provisions banning nude dancing and regulation of where adult businesses can operate.)

Since when did personal pleasure seeking become ‘a legitimate state interest’? Is there a spate of vibrator injuries in Alabama that are bankrupting the public health system? Are dildo-brandishing burglar’s unleashing havoc in the streats? Or does this guy just have some serious control issues to contend with? Did mommy not treat him right? Does his wife get more stimulation from her battery operated boyfriend than he can provide?

By the way…the anti-obscenity law does exempt condom sales and virility drugs and other sexual devices that have a ‘legitimate medical, scientific, or educational value.’

I bet Alabama doctors are going to be writing a lot of vibrator prescriptions if this law is acted upon.

Just when you think the government can’t do anything more worthless, this happens.  Although the people of Talibama will probably just order their stuff online now anyway.  What a moron…

A consideration that could happen, unless Talabama tax agents pursue those vendors. Then they’ll pull out too. (pun definitely intended.)

GTL- I wondered if you’d chime in on this. I do sympathize with you my friend…no place is perfect, but come on! Haven’t they (AL Legislators) got better things to do with your time. (Your time because YOU pay them!)

That’s what they do down here, bro!  No time for anything other than legislating and forcing THEIR “morality” down our throats.  I cannot frigging WAIT for some of Howard Dean’s money to make it to the Gulf Coast… if not to promote Democrats, at LEAST to have some other voices heard down here…

You know, handguns sort of look like a penis. Sort of. Instead of a sack there is the “grip” and then instead of the shaft there is a “barrel”.

    Hummmm…….

Good grief. Tal-abama has grabbed the torch from Tennessee! Again, not a ban on print, used primarily by men, but a ban on devices, used by women. Blow up dolls aren’t mechanical, eh? What is it about the south and issues with women enjoying themselves?
