Britain Bombs Iran-Says ‘Kidnapped’ Soldiers Valid Reason For War

March 23rd, 2007 | by Ken Grandlund |

Following the lead of last summer’s Israeli attack against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Great Britain today began bombing the hell out of Iranian infrastructure after the Iranian Navy detained 15 British sailors operating in the persian Gulf.

Former UN Ambassador from the United States John Bolton noted that he was “damned proud” of Britain for their decision. Israel is also backing the retaliation, noting that if the kidnapping of 2 Israeli soldiers was good enough to set back Lebanon half a century and kill up to 1000 Lebanese civilians, Britain should be able to wipe out at least 7500 Iranian civilians while decimating the city of Tehran.

After all, if it’s okay for Israel, it’s okay for the UK, right?

Oh………….wait…………………

Turns out that the UK isn’t sending any missiles flying quite yet. Stay tuned for further developments.

I don’t get it.  Any of it.  Why would Iran kidnap these guys?  At best it makes them look bad.  At worst it starts a war.  There must have been some kind of justification (at least that Iran is officially going with) for this action right?  The whole thing is weird.

This is just a bit awkward, isn’t it.  I wonder if American rightwingers will be disappointed if England isn’t “manly” enough to bomb Iran back to the stone age.

I am sure the righties will Tom..but I have not discounted Britain doing some bombing if their folks aren’t released very soon.

Tom, of course the right will not be disappointed if England doesn’t bomb Iran back to the stone age. We would prefer them bombed back to the 1920s or so. Give or take a decade.
