Reaganonmics in Action
March 27th, 2007 | by Jersey McJones |So, David “The Ironically Named” Stockman has been charged with fraud. Sur-prise, sur-prise!
From the Detroit News…
On Monday, Stockman, 60, was indicted on fraud and conspiracy charges stemming from his tenure as head of bankrupt automotive supplier Collins & Aikman Corp. Federal prosecutors charged Stockman and three other former Collins & Aikman executives with orchestrating an elaborate financial deception aimed at defrauding investors, lenders and federal investigators. They are accused of using a series of accounting tricks to hide the company’s deep financial problems and secure additional financing.
…
As financial whiz kid in the first Reagan administration, Stockman was one of the chief architects of the fiscal policy known as Reaganomics. He was considered one of the rising stars in the Reagan Revolution, but famously doused his own flame with some overly candid comments to the Atlantic Monthly, calling the president’s supply-side theory a “Trojan Horse” designed to sell the American people on the tax cuts for the rich and warning of looming budget deficits.
This would be hysterical if it weren’t all true, but… oh, what the heck - this IS hysterical!!! AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Reaganomics was all about one thing - the wealthy getting wealthier by cannibalizing America with regressive taxation and laizzez faire oversight of the investment, industrial and banking sectors. Once a crook, always a crook, Stockman is yet another example of the crooked, sleazy cons playing their Reaganomic games and getting sloppy and getting caught. Somehow, though, I’m quite certain that the moronic sheep that still believe in the “Family Values” of the GOP and the validity of the economic theory of “Supply-Side” economics - two utterly mutually exclusive concepts, on top of being pure bullshit - will continue their undying support for the cannibals gnawing on their asses.
Conservative voters - I’m sorry but you’re a bunch of fucking suckers. Idiots.
