France’s Election: Those Crazy Liberals

May 9th, 2007 | by steve |

In an effort to act as wacky as America’s liberals, French students are protesting the election of the correct choice conservative Sarkozy.

Oh brother, is it not the USA like 3 or even 7 years ago for that matter. Liberals standing after the election, jaw dropped to the ground, calling it all a “scandal” and demanding a recount.

Notice though in America, when the liberals won the majority in November in both the House and Senate, not one of the big bitches honchos, Pelosi, Clinton or Boxer, cried foul at the ballot box. No protests… Suddenly all the changes that supposedly were needed to prevent a Bush win were a non-issue.

But back to France for a second…

From the article:

Shouting slogans like “Sarko fascist! The people will have your hide!” and “Police everywhere, justice nowhere!,” the demonstrators were cornered by hundreds of police close to the nearby Luxembourg Gardens.

It’s amazing how conservatives are all wrapped up in the tight little bundle of Fascism.

From Websters:

fascism: 1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Yeah… that is totally us. Sounds like Nancy Pelosi really… but yeah, that is all conservatives, all Republicans… including wannabe’s like Schwarzenegger, Guiliani and Gingrich. (lol Gingrich)

From the article:

The higher education minister, Francois Goulard, called on the head of the Paris I site to make sure university courses continued and to guarantee access to the annexe’s buildings.

“It is totally unacceptable that an extremist minority, showing their scorn for democracy, should try to oppose the enactment of the president of the republic’s program,” he said.

Sounds a lot like Cindy Sheehan, a handful of bloggers and Rosie, doesn’t it. “Can’t wait for the term to end, that guy is bad… get him out…. We can do better even though we haven’t gone through the election process yet…”

I guess we truly can’t be friendly to each other anymore.

fascism: the world’s largest per capita incarceration rate now standing at over 2 million, 4.5 million inelligible voters, highest non-violent “crime” rate in the industrialized world, world’s largest military empire, etc…

Welcome to the New Conservative American World Order. What a shithole.

There are some possible differences here.

    1. I do not know what the margins were in the French elections. But in 2000, you have one guy who won the popular vote by over 500,000 votes and yet loose the election by 300 or 400 votes in Florida. A fraction of a percent in one State, where the “winners” brother just happened to be the Governor.

    2. The French elections had an 85% voter turnout. We should all hang our heads in shame. Does the USA ever see that kind of turnout? Hell no! I do not want to stand in line! It is raining! My fat ass is too fat to get off the sofa! I want to be able to vote without getting out of my car, and then order a shake and some fries to go! We are fat and lazy. Really. If this does not show it, nothing will. We should have voter turnout in the 90% or better range for national elections! If not, what the hell in the point?

Anyhow, now that I got that out of my system, what were the margins in France? Did the “winner” win by 10 votes? 50 votes? 500,000 votes? It makes a difference you know. And did exit polls jive with the actual numbers, or was there a huge difference in the two? That is kind of important too.

The Congressional 2006 elections were fairly consistent across the nation. They followed trends that a bunch of polls were tracking, even those done by Fox. We all knew that Bush was loosing popularity, and since the sitting President is so tied to his party - his approval or disapproval can sink or carry the party during mid term elections. This is just how the system works.

There was no “controversy” during the first Bush mid term election, when his popularity was in the 70% range. Of course Republicans were going to hold power! With a sitting Republican having numbers like that, how could they loose? Even with electronic machines that can be hacked (by the way, hacked to benefit ANY party or candidate).

If the margins in France were not even close, then the protesting will not go on for very long.

Believe all you want Steve, at the end of the day, they’re gonna lock your ass up as well.

You see, you’re right, it’s not all conservatives or Republicans that are facists, it’s just the neo-cons. And considering they control your party that’s the face of the party.

Nobody stood up and screamed in November because nobody pointed out voting irregularity. There was some but nothing on the scale of Florida or Ohio.

Don’t you find it odd that the two key states that were in the cross hairs of deciding who would be president had huge voting irregularity?

Why is it that Republicans and conservatives alike always walk lock step in stride with what your party leaders tell you?

Oh you are one to talk Mr. Disciple of Harry Reid. All you liberals are the same with your smug attitudes, protest laden bumper stickers on your Priuses and purple glass pipes for “tobacco” use.

C’mon Steve O, you are smarter than that aren’t you?
