Oh Hillary- Just STFU

Whaaaaa Hillary is out there whining again about how mean the press is to her. Whaaaaaaaaaaa

Clinton told NPR’s “All Things Considered” on Tuesday that she has faced “something of a double standard” during this election cycle. Michale Norris asked Clinton to respond to the following:

“Senator, I want you to react to something that I keep hearing among voters, and increasingly among people who cover the campaign — both those who are reporters and those who speak about the campaign on television, on radio — the statement that the only way that Hillary Clinton can win is if she’s willing to win ugly,”

“When you hear that,” Norris continued, “what does that mean to you? How do you react to that?

“Well, I don’t know what it means because there is no way for Senator Obama to win unless he also obtains a significant number of superdelegates,” said Clinton. “I understand that there has been, throughout this campaign, something of a double standard. I accept it; I live with it.”

Oh yes the big old “media double standard.” It’s sounding more and more like her election version of a “vast right-winged conspiracy” now doesn’t it? May I reminded the “esteemed” Senator from New York (who surely must still be rattled from her traumatic sniper incident) about the hatchet job the press did on Obama over Rev. Wright? May I remind the former First Lady how the press cut out distorted snippets of those speeches and used it to scare White America?Yeah I can see why she thinks SHES treated unfairly….(insert smirk here).

The interview got better when the reporter (you know, those mean old double-standard having reporters??) followed up on her statement.

When Norris followed-up again, saying, “Just in case it’s not clear to someone, I don’t want to assume. I just want you to tell me what you think the double standard is because I don’t want to assume,” Clinton unloaded.

“No, but you know – for example, why is the question directed at me?” she said. “I mean, neither of us has the number of delegates to win. It is a problem for both of us. And Senator Obama’s supporters refuse to support a revote in Michigan, which I thought was rather odd for the Democratic Party to be against another vote. Senator Obama’s supporters wanted to end this contest and short circuit it so that the votes of the people in the next upcoming contest wouldn’t count because he has a slight lead. And it’s by no means definitive. It would have been like calling the championship game last night with two minutes left to go because somebody was ahead. And that’s not how it turned out.”

Oh gee as one of those Florida people who you AGREED to fuck over in an effort to ass-kiss corn farmers in Iowa and (what the hell do they make in New Hampshire???) bite me. No new election. You had your chance here but you punted. I don’t want deathbed conversions now that you’re losing. So suddenly you’re interested in my vote? To damn bad. Where was all that talk about “democracy” when you agreed to disenfranchise my family and friends? You agree to the rules, you live with them. Maybe you shoudl try that some time.

Basketball teams can’t change the rules in the middle of the game. Either can politicians. To suggest such is the height of hypocrisy. And that folks is the real double standard in this campaign - it’s only good if it’s good for the Clinton’s.

I’d like to remind Senator Clinton about how she told the media she’s never accept Wright as her pastor (dutifully reported) while the blogs broke the picture of Bill chumming with the good rev at the WH while the Lewinsky scandal was breaking and he needed to shore up his morality profile. She was there.

I’d also like to remind the Senator that she held her nose and chummed up with Richard Mellon Scaife, mastermind of the Arkansas Project (designed to destroy the Clinton presidency) in order to get a couple of leading questions about Wright softballed to her so she could “just answer direct questions” and play dirty while calling it clean.

It’s not a double standard if everybody is dirty.
