Majority Of Americans Think Clinton Is A Liar
April 16th, 2008 | by Cranky Liberal |Well this renews some of my faith in America.
PHILADELPHIA, April 15 — Lost in the Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign’s aggressive attacks on Barack Obama in recent days is a deep and enduring problem that threatens to undercut any inroads Clinton has made in her struggle to overtake him in the Democratic presidential race: She has lost trust among voters, a majority of whom now view her as dishonest…..
Clinton is viewed as “honest and trustworthy” by just 39 percent of Americans, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, compared with 52 percent in May 2006. Nearly six in 10 said in the new poll that she is not honest and trustworthy. And now, compared with Obama, Clinton has a deep trust deficit among Democrats, trailing him by 23 points as the more honest, an area on which she once led both Obama and John Edwards.
Maybe it’s because when Obama was faced with controversy, he stepped up and addressed it directly, while Clinton dodges and ducks like a woman being shot at by a sniper. Oh sorry, did I say that?
Let’s see, Republican’s can’t stand her, Democrats don’t trust her and most people dislike her. Sounds like the perfect recipe for success to me.

Why does she continue to receive so many votes, then?

Well she hasn’t gotten enough to win now has she? She hasn’t even gotten a majority of the vote.

Right, but Obama hasn’t won anything yet. So I ask again, if “Republican’s can’t stand her, Democrats don’t trust her and most people dislike her” why has she received so many votes?

Well Alex no one said she didn’t have supporters, just not enough to win. Not enough to win a primary, not enough to win a General election. If independents think your a liar and Republicans think yoru a liar, and 1/3 of your own part think your a liar….I ask you - how does that add up to a victory?
It doesn’t matter how many votes the #2 person gets. A loser is still a loser. Just ask John Kerry

How does Obama’s absence of majority support (i.e., he hasn’t won anything yet) add up to a victory?
I am only saying that your attacks on Hillary Clinton aren’t as founded as you suggest in the original post. My evidence is the enormous amount of support she still has; coupled with all the votes she has received to date, I think I might be right.
Her loosing the election is another thing entirely. However, Obama still hasn’t won either. So, I wonder if your attack on Clinton could be applied to him as well?
