Coolest Lunch Hour, EVAH!!!!

While you were muching your turkey sandwich, I got to shake Howard Dean’s hand, see the Change Bus, and generally get completely stoked about being a Democrat. Well, completely stoked really doesn’t describe it, but for once, I’m at a loss for adjectives.

Here comes the bus…

It’s a 100 degrees and nobody cares… GO BLUE!

The guy at the podium is the Texas State Chair, and the younger guy behind him is the vice president of the UT Dems. His group registered 12,000 Dems this year alone.

Dean asks each active Dem go on the gound in their neighborhood and talk to 25 people three times each between now and November. He says studies show that people talking to their neighbors about why voting Dem is important to them results in a 12% higher turnout. (Mail, phone, canvassing, more like 1 to 2%.) 12% is HUGE.

Then I got to shake Dean’s hand! All in all, an outstanding lunch hour, even if I didn’t eat.
