Let’s Cut Through The Bullshit - John McCain is a Liar
July 30th, 2008 | by Cranky Liberal |John McCain is a big fat fucking liar. There is your narrative for this campaign and the only one you need to be focusing on. Say it with me - John McCain is a liar. A craven, truth-bending fabricator of reality just like Bush and his cronies. Any article you write about John McCain from now should go like this:
John McCain, Republican nominee for President and big fat fucking liar, said today that.. If you are uncomfortable with the language, feel free to replace it with “John McCain, Arizona Senator and big fat fucking liar said today” if it makes you feel better. It’s not quite as obscene, but I know some of you blanch at foul language.
Why am I in such an uproar? Oh I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m sick of Senator Nosferatu just making up shit and then not being able to back it up. Worse, he doesn’t even care about backing up his claim because he knows most Americans are too flipping stupid to know truth from lies. Just get up and lie your ass off and enough lazy fuckers who know more about American Idle than American politics will just nod their head and agree.
Latest example of Liegate - Obama’s “refusal” to meet with the wounded soldiers in Germany. John McCain and his little bitch-pack of lying toadies have now decided to push the narrative that Obama wouldn’t meet with the troops because he wasn’t allowed to bring reporters. This in spite of the fact THERE IS NOT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THEIR CLAIM!!!
Not one.
Not half of one.
Not even a politically massaged scrap of circumstantial evidence that could be construed as plausible if you turned your brain into a giant pretzel and then ran head first into a wall. No, quite the contrary - the evidence reports to something entirely different.
From Today’s Washington Post:
McCain Charge Against Obama Lacks Evidence
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, July 30, 2008; Page A0
For four days, Sen. John McCain and his allies have accused Sen. Barack Obama of snubbing wounded soldiers by canceling a visit to a military hospital because he could not take reporters with him, despite no evidence that the charge is true.
The attacks are part of a newly aggressive McCain operation whose aim is to portray the Democratic presidential candidate as a craven politician more interested in his image than in ailing soldiers, a senior McCain adviser said. They come despite repeated pledges by the Republican that he will never question his rival’s patriotism.
Yeah that’s pretty shitty, but that’s not even the worse part. When McCain and his Carl Rove wannabe’s are asked for evidence, they cite reports that PROVIDE NONE. Imagine that, you use as the basis for your attack, a report that has no information to support your claim AND YOU CITE IT!! You honestly believe people are SO STUPID that you can lie to their face about an issue and produce phony evidence to back your lie up and get away with it.
Again from WaPo
“I know that, according to reports, that he wanted to bring media people and cameras and his campaign staffers,” McCain said Monday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”
Despite serious and repeated queries about the charge over several days, McCain and his allies continued yesterday to question Obama’s patriotism by focusing attention on the canceled hospital visit.
McCain’s campaign released a statement from retired Sgt. Maj. Craig Layton, who worked as a commander at the hospital, who said: “If Senator Obama isn’t comfortable meeting wounded American troops without his entourage, perhaps he does not have the experience necessary to serve as commander in chief.
McCain’s advisers said they do not intend to back down from the charge, believing it an effective way to create a “narrative” about what they say is Obama’s indifference toward the military.
McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said again yesterday that the Republican’s version of events is correct, and that Obama canceled the visit because he was not allowed to take reporters and cameras into the hospital.
“It is safe to say that, according to press reports, Barack Obama avoided, skipped, canceled the visit because of those reasons,” he said. “We’re not making a leap here.”
Asked repeatedly for the “reports,” Bounds provided three examples, none of which alleged that Obama had wanted to take members of the media to the hospital. (emphasis added)
See - no proof, just a made up line of bullshit to fit their false “narrative” about Obama lacking patriotism. That sounds familiar doesn’t it? John McCain - war hero in his own right lacked patriotism. Max Cleland - a war hero and man who left limb, if not life, in same war that made McCain a star, lacked patriotism. Now Barack Obama, a man that obviously loves his family, his faith and his country is being painted by the same bullshit brush. John McCain and the Republican party will stoop to any level to win.
You know what? As long as we are discussing “patriotism, let me just shoot from the hip here. I don’t want to hear another fucking word about McCain being a war hero - what the fuck difference does that make? Seriously think about it people - just because he toughed it out in hell doesn’t qualify him to be President any more than my playing piano qualifies me for the NFL. Yeah I said it. So should other people.
From now on I don’t care what McCain promises. I don’t care what he says. He’s a lying dirtbag. Shout it from the hills people and don’t be afraid. They have no problems making shit up, so we shouldn’t have a problem telling the truth. Afterall, we aren’t Republicans.

So, nothing to say about McCain lying and slandering his opponent? You’re ok with that? I mean, it’s not like Obama doesn’t ahve real flaws to pick on. Why make them up (except that McCain suffers from them as well and doesn’t want to draw attention to his own failings, maybe)?

Which lie is it. The one where he didn’t go because his campaign would have to pay for it or the lie that the Pentagon told him not to go?
No lies. Was it a lie that the prayer Obama stuck in the prayer wall was made public? You don’t think that was a lie?

I mean really what will it take for you not to defend an asshat like that? You GOP’ers talk about family values and the ten commandments but when push comes to shove all you guys care about is winning at ANY cost. And one thing for sure is that winning at any cost isn’t the “family values” I was raised on. And as far as I can tell lying is prohibited in that cruddy little work you call the 10 commandments…
Notice how I am not saying a word about Obama or Clinton, so please don;t bring them up, just explain to me why you would rather vote a known liar into office just because he says he’s a Republican??

I just submitted a comment that has, perhaps, disappeared down the spam-blocker black hole. It went like this:
Except it linked to a Washington Post fact checker page excoriating Obama for lying about McCain’s statement about him being fine with us being in Iraq 100 years from now, in the same sense of us being in Germany and Japan some 60 years after the war.
If someone would check the spam-blocker thingy and release my comment, the link will be imbedded in it. Until then, I’m confident you all know what Obama lie I’m talking about.

Notice that I am not defending McCain [heaven forbid], but pointing out that the choice is not between one liar and one truth-teller but between two liars and so the sort of breathless “McCain is a big, fat, fucking liar” post such as this one could be repeated about Obama. ‘Politicians’ is to ‘liars’ as ‘A’ is to ‘A’

Oh well I guess you could say a few of them are “open to interpretation” like McCain’s point blank statement bout Iraq ( Hell make it 100 years) but the tenor and tone of the McCain campaign is to sell American’s NOTHING but distortion, lie and BS because they have no policy to stand on. I stand by my statement John McCain is a liar. The only thing straight on his straight talk express is the playbook he swiped straight from Karl Rove.

like w, p.w. songbird is much more than a liar. a liar uses falsehoods to protect himself, enrich himself, or to shift responsibility from the results of past lies from himself to others. w never learned the difference between right and wrong and never learned any sense of responsibility from the ugliest first lady in american history who also taught lil w no moral sense while she let him get away with anything he choose to do as a child. therefore w has no ability to discern truth from falsehoods. he may not mean to lie, but lying is simply an engrained aspect of his sordid character. mccain may have been taught some sense of right and wrong from whoever was paid to raise him while his father was away fighting the big one. mccains childhood formative years were nothing but constant movement from one base to another. the only thing he learned was to think quick on his feet and do what it took to fit in. again truth be damned, his life has always been about doing or saying whatever it took to stay on top of the hill. his true formative years where spent not in the hanoi hilton as most unlearned and unread pop-culture americans believe, but in a special annex of the same prison camp nicknamed the plantation by the prisoners suffering in the hanoi hilton. mccain garnered his special accomodations by telling the north vietnamese what ever they wanted to here, whether such tales were true or not. hopefully he didn’t reveal too much to the enemy. but his special accomodations and the fact that he made 37 propaganda films for the enemy make one wonder. obviously mccain sacrificed his honor for things such as a bare modicum of medical care after his horrific shootdown, little better food than the rations served to his fellow prisoners, and security from random beatings after the first few weeks. these rewards he earned for the information he provided were much less than the basics we all take for granted, so it is hard to judge him as harshly as he may deserve.
again obviously he learned in these formative prison years to say whatever he had to to get to the top of the heap, truth be damned. he has operated this way since his return from vietnam. my point is w and p.w songbird have no sense of truth or facts, only a rock hard granite belief that they can say or do anything they want and create their own realities. we have seen from the last 8 years what happens to people who accept leadership from such sordid alleged human beings and this country cannot in any way shape or form expect to survive 4 more years of the same. america is based on constitutional law enforced by a strong federal government that should act only on unbiased facts. when fully functioning and unvarnished by immoral truth twisters, our system approaches perfection better than any other system known in history. unfortunately when our government, our social structures, resources, and the most important part of america, the hearts, minds and souls of the people are controlled by fully functional sociopaths driven only by self-enrichment and their desire to dominate others and devoid of any sense of reality our society crumbles to the detriment of the whole world. we have been on this path for 8 years now. we will not survive another 4 years of the same. remember, those who avoid reality always fail. i ask any who are considering pulling the lever for mccain to please read this before you do so and seriously consider the results of your vote.

w.j. clinton called and asked me could i hook him up at baraks inauguration? i told him about you and your blue dress so you better be careful unless you’re into inter-political relations. gina gershon just hollered out from my bedroom for you to watch out cause ole w.j. is mighty persuasive.

In the mean time, Cranky, yes, McCain said 100 years but he also compared it to our troops in Germany and Japan after 60+ years and specifically said that he’d be cool with having troops in Iraq IN THAT SAME SENSE, namely, without losing soldiers to fighting.
McCain said he’d be cool with a 100 year war in exactly the same sense that we’ve been engaged in a 65 year war with Germany and Japan. McCain never said he’d be okay with a 100 year war. Obama said he did. That is to say, Obama lied. QED.

Buzzzz - wrong. Craig how is it a lie? Did McCain follow that up with but if fighting continues we will need to leave in the next few months? No. McCain is on record saying he is unwilling to leave until we achieve “victory” that we can’t “retreat” or leave Iraq in “defeat.” So if the war rages on 100 years my friend your candidates stated position is to keep in keeping on. Your QED is SOL.
Not my fault McCain made a huge gaff. Quoting a man’s exact words are not a lie and I also am not willing to by into your “contextual” argument because the context of McCains entire policy says he will stay until the “job is done” whatever that is.

Lord that article doesn’t even make the case that Obama is lying. If that’s the heavy lifting, you must not be able to lift much.
I stand by my statement earlier. If you are unwilling to leave until you achieve victory, you are for leaving troops there as long as “necessary” whether that is 50 or heck make it 100 years. The last I heard it was still labeled the War in Iraq, not the Peace in Iraq. Maybe I missed that announcement somewhere.

Yeh. Washington Post CALLING Obama a liar. What alternate reality do you live in? Obama said McCain said something McCain’s entire statement did not say. That’s a lie. Sorry man but if you can’t even translate MSM speak into real world language, what can I say?
All I’m talking about is what Obama said McCain said. McCain did not say what Obama said he said when you examine the whole quote. The easiest thing in the world is to lie by quoting accurately what another person said…but leaving out parts that materially change the part one quoted: i. e. “That’s fine with me as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed.” Can you read that well enough?
Now can we get past this silly nonsense? McCain did not make the point that Obama said he did. He made the point that I said he did. In my estimation, that means Obama lied.
By Craig R. Harmon on Jul 31, 2008 | Reply

That’t the quote from your article that is in dispute. Where does it say Obama is quoting John McCain? Nowhere. Where does it say Obama says John McCain said he want’s a 100 year war. Nowhere. You are making false claims Craig.
What Obama says here is that John McCain wants to continue the war in Iraq (true) for perhaps 100 years (where does McCain say he will leave sooner if the war is still going on? Nowhere.) The more I look at what Obama said, the more certain I am that is sums up McCain’s stated policy and is not, in fact a “lie”
BTW the WaPo article at best chastises Obama for using the word Wants in reference to the 100 year war. however I stand by my statement that McCain’s policy allows for no retreat if the war rages that long therefore it is not inaccurate or illogical to make the claim.

Ah. I see. Pinocchio is best known for, um, chastizing, accurately, people for using the word “want”. RIIIIIGHT!
Tell you what, Cranky. I’m through. You believe what you believe and I believe what I believe. The only thing I can’t figure out is how you’ve convinced yourself of what you believe. But that’s not my problem.
Bye-bye!

But wait, I’m sure that there was something in that Pinocchio story about his elongated nose indicating that he’d lied…
Oh, never mind.
Honestly, no nose elongation involved, I’m done.

MB-so it’s wrong for a republican to be gay but not a democrat? I thought the democrats embraced homosexuality.
And your statement:
but at least it was a heterosexual b.j. unlike the republican preference.
Sounds like you are a homophobe.

craig,
john w. mcsame may not mean to lie everytime he opens his mouth. but so many times he speaks without thinking. just like when he jumped the questioner to early and without thinking with the foolish answer: “how bout 100 years” concerning the iraq occupation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFknKVjuyNk&feature=related
those thoughtless words often conflict with reality and/or previous statements mcsame has uttered that some how or another where based on facts. again, the main problem just like with the fool w is the lack of thought. these mindless knee jerk reactions and outrageously fictitious statements nmade on the fly may appeal to right wing nuts who fear intelligence because intelligence and forethought are just too hard for the pea brains to handle have got to stop. the triumph of stupidity that occured in this country in 2000 and 2004 has ebbed and the tide thank god is going back out to sea hopefully to never return again. a government run by fools who have not the ability nor the intelligence neccessary to formulate and carry out competent policy will only fail as has been eveidenced by the last 8 years of governence by thoughtless fools who somehow believe they can create their own reality. this shit is over and with the election of obama intelligence will reign again from sea to shining sea.

lisa,
i make no judgements on an individuals choice of orgasm attainment and preference for estrogen or testosterone. republicans condemn homosexuals in their pathetic pandering to the lunatic fringe of the religious right. yet time and again we hear stories of larry craig in the bathroom stall, mark foley with the male pages, the sordid adventures of ted haggard, patrick mchenry, charlie crist, david drier, w and victor ashe, jeff gannon/gunkert, condeloser rice, lindsey graham, bitch mcconnell and so many more too numerous to name. all of these hypocrites have conspired with the fool w to destroy this country. on the other side of the aisle sits barney frank who openly admits to cock admiration, yet was instrumental in passing a bill to help troubled homeowners suffering due to the failed, corrupt, and incompetent policies of w the fool who hid in a closet with no one watching at 7:00 in the morning to sign that bill he originally threatened to veto. sound familiar? my judgement is not passed on sexual preference but is passed on the hypocrisy of the corrupt, incompetent and so sexually confused republican party and its members.

I know MB I just wanted to see your explanation which was pretty good about “choice of orgasm attainment”.
It’s a shame that conservative values are associated with homosexuality. I don’t see why one can’t be for both.

Wow.
just when I was thinking BIO was gettin boring again. I guess I missed Cranky Liberal taking the tag from Steve-o.
Funny thing about long threads like this one: it starts out “John McCain is a big fat fucking liar’, and evolves/morphs into “choice of orgasm attainment” from Lisa.

ROFLMFAO Lazarys Long! How true indeed.
When it comes to Republican Politics it is never about the content of your speech as much as it is all about how large of a percentage of it actually takes amongst the minions. Right or dead wrong, they have found the best tactic to attack an opponent and it is disinformation and rediculous soundbites that people to lazy to look it up that stick.
I’m with the LIAR, LIAR, LIAR crowd on this one and McCain is a liar that can not even believe his own lies. Ergo his own campaign having to correct his own statements to the press on many issues.
Great post my friend!

From the book “Partners in Command” George Marshall and Dwight Eisenhower in war & peace.
From Marshall confirmation hearings for secretary of defense, perfect example of the republicans honoring our troops, lying and spreading hate.
Setator Williams F. Jenner (R - Indiana)
“General Marshall in not only willing, he is eager to play the role of a front man for traitors. The truth is this is no new role for him, for General George C. Marshall is a living lie… It is tragic that George Marshall is not enough of a patriot to tell the American people the truth of what has happened, and the terrifying story of what lies in store for us, instead of joining hands once more with this criminal crowd of traitors and Communist appeasers who, under the continuing influence and direction of Mr. Truman and Mr. Acheson are still selling Americans down the river.”
The there is this from the book
“As for McCarthy and Jenner, Eisenhower would not compromise: they were “disciples of hate”.”
The republicans have not changed their act in 50 years. They lie and spread fear and hate.

Mr. Bigstuff,
If you’re looking for a defense of McCain from me, you’re barking up the wrong asparagus, man.
By Craig R. Harmon on Aug 5, 2008 | Reply
Cranky,
No sale. You’ve taken a rather late iteration of Obama’s lie…after it became obvious that his earlier iterations were lies. Which iterations?
These:
Now notice, please, how liar, liar, liar Obama says plainly, that McCain “says that he is willing to send our troops into another 100 years of war in Iraq” when McCain plainly said no such thing. No, Cranky, it is you that are ignoring facts in contradiction to your thesis.
Very bad debating error. It will lose you both debating points and credibility every time.
Obama lied and lied repeatedly about what McCain said. I’m not going to respond to you any longer as though you are advancing a serious defense of Obama’s lies. There IS no defense of Obama’s lies. He’s a big, fat, fucking liar and that’s all there is to it.
Now I suggest you go crawl back down the rabbit hole. You’re late for a very important date! Obama’s passing out the Kool-Aide! You don’t want to miss that!
By Cranky Liberal on Aug 5, 2008 | Reply
LOL see above Craig. Once again those are not lies. Just statements of McCains position on Iraq. Is he quoting John McCain? No. Is McCain willing to stay in Iraq for 100 years? Yes. Is Iraq a war. Yes. Will he leave unless we win? No.
Really Craig, if this is the best you can do, I feel better about Obama than I did before. Maybe you should have taken a page out of Senator McSame and just made some shit up.
By Craig R. Harmon on Aug 6, 2008 | Reply
Cranky,
That’s the Kool-Aid. That’s what it’s for: to make you feel better about Obama. And no. Under it’s influence not even the obvious will filter through the haze. But they tell me it’s just like falling asleep, except you wake up in the mother-ship.
Honestly, no point talking to someone so deep in the tank he can’t see what’s right in front of him. Bye bye!
