When this doesn’t happen in the Middle East it is not a terrorist attack.

You meet the nicest people on the bus! I reserve judgment on the whole ‘terrorist’ thing. We have no information about the perp other than that he’s 40 years old, on the upper age range for those typical of middle eastern terrorists, and, of course, we have no word on whether he was of middle eastern descent or of the Islamic faith or what his motive might have been.

Not that all terrorists are youngish men of middle eastern descent and of the Muslim faith, just what one is likely to think of first when one hears of a terrorist. Well, what I think of first, anyway.

But this may have been just some poor, unstable soul who cracked. It may have no connection to anything we would associate with terrorism: a member of an organized group and political goals that the act is meant to advance.

Now if this had been Denmark, the victim had been a film-maker who had recently produced a short film highlighting the treatment of women in Islamic culture and the perp were a youngish Muslim man, this would be termed either militant jihad or a terrorist attack. If it were a government building being blown up by a member of a militia critical of the government, it would be a terrorist attack. But the thing is, it could be a revenge killing for some wrong the perp perceived the victim to have caused against him or it may just be a random act against a convenient victim (asleep with headphones on and, so, an easy target for a guy with the urge for some blood and gore).

While the guy caused plenty of terror, that alone doesn’t make this a terrorist attack.

I filled up on Exxon today because it was 4.01 per gallon. Citgo was 4.29(I never go to Citgo anyway).Shell was 4.39.
Plus I prefer to support American comnpanies.
I bet the government is enjoying their profits as well.
I hope they continue to prosper, the shareholders depend on it.
