Bring It On!

The BIO-Sphere is Back

August 7th, 2008 | by Steve O |

And better than ever before. Most of you that have been with Bring It On from the beginning and have seen the site go through many transformations and behind every change was an idea that would allow the readers and those that read and commented an opportunity to bring their view points to the front page and not be left hidden within the second page of the comments section of each post.

We have always tried to make Bring It On as fair as possible because the owners of this site believe in free speech whether it comes from the left or the right. Unfortunately our shoe string budget has never allowed us to build the dynamic site like some of the bigger sites that would allow the seeding and growth of the freedom of speech we swore to defend and uphold.

Well, finally, with the huge efforts of Tom Baker (Cranky Liberal) from the design side we believe we have finally come up with such a system that will support the freedom of speech we believe in. It is a system based on some of the more popular social networking sites out there such as Digg and Reddit. On one hand it does not allow for people to write complete posts but it does allow for people to find views they support, comment on them and post them to the BIO-Sphere for all of us to debate, vote on and dissect such view points. This could and we hope will include view points from your own blogs, matter of fact that’s what we hope the BIO-Sphere is used for. It will give us all a chance to see one persons complete view points but it will also give us all a chance to visit your blog and see all of your view points. Sometimes seeing someones blog leads to a complete understanding of where someone stands and makes for a better understanding of each other.

Digg and Reddit are moving away from emphasizing political blog opinon, and we hope this will fill that void. People who love this country, spend hours researching and writing about politics on their blogs deserve a wider audience and a decent discussion. That’s our take, anyways.

So with all of that said please give the BIO-Sphere a chance. To the right of this post you will find the top posts of the BIO-Sphere which end up there based on a voting system built into the BIO-Sphere. This voting system will allow the community to promote ideas to the top regardless of whether they come from the left or the right. To reach the BIO-Sphere stories all you need to do is click on a story title or click on the BIO-Sphere link at the top of the column. To vote or contribute to the BIO-Sphere you will need to create an account for the BIO-Sphere, which only takes a couple of seconds.

This is only the beginning folks, for the people that have been with Bring It On from the start we appreciate all your patience as Bring It On has gone through its numerous transitions. For everyone new to Bring It On, enjoy the experience.

We are always looking for feedback on how we can make the site better so feel free to use the comments section to leave your constructive feedback. Good, bad, ugly, we welcome it all but remember one thing, some design and development aspects cost money and this site is supported by people that have short arms and deep pockets.

Do I have to put on the tin-foil hat in BIO-Sphere also?

    Lazarus,

That’s up to you because it all depends on how much or how little you want to contribute. If you sign up and contribute then you are giving yourself a voice and people have a chance, just like you to up or down vote the validity of what you contributed.

Give it a shot, sign up and see.

The Reynolds Wrap seems to repel the best when you coat the outside of it with Crisco.

AH, Crisco. I was using extra virgin olive oil………………

There’s always the Dubya technique as an alternative (lining the inside of one’s skull with lead.)
