“The Original Maverick?”

August 19th, 2008 | by Windspike |

Does any one reach for the vomit bag when they watch McSame’s “Original Maverick” commercial spots? I’m mean, come on, what’s the definition of Maverick?

A maverick is a person who shows independence of thought or action, a non-conformist or rebel.

Really, McSame looks like Bush in a different wrapper. Calling himself a maverick is tarnishing those who actually fit the label.

There’s a reason why they labeled Mavericks with the name - because you have to be out of your mind and a complete non-conformist to jump into deep waters with a high probability that you could lose your life for doing it. These guys are Mavericks:

McSame doesn’t demonstrate one iota of Maverick qualities in my book. And, he looks like a fool for claiming so. Smells like more votes for the Dems in November.

Here’s an interesting question for the day - Since when does discrediting a sitting president the modus operandi for the incumbent party? This is a clear sign that the W, Rove and Co has screwed the pooch so many times while they controlled the helm of the good ship America.

Here’s one view on the matter:

    spike,
great video there spike. have you seen the movie “riding giants” about big wave surfing? that’s where i first heard about the mavericks.
john p.W. mcsame-hensley like damn near every republican’t self-label is 180 degrees from even the loosest definition of maverick. every self description advocated by a republican’t is usually way far from the truth and anytime these image conscious back room scam artists criticize an opponent it’s usually for behavior the republican’t leads the league in.
mcsame calling himself a maverick is like the corporate ladder climber who calls himself a non-conformist, finances a brand spanking new harley on which he cannot turn one wrench, has crystal clean riding gear, wears cologne, and drinks only two coors lights at the local hooters because he’s afraid of pushing the legal b.a.c. levels. all the while refering to himself as a…hmmph..”biker”.

    Another lie

“I count myself as a conservative Republican, yet I view it to a large degree in the Theodore Roosevelt mold,” Mr. McCain said, referring to Roosevelt’s reputation for reform, environmentalism and tough foreign policy.

Does anyone believe he stands for this.

    or this.

I have seen riding giants…Laird Hamilton is a rock star and perhaps really, the true original maverick, but there are a lot of guys out there riding big waves anonymously - mavericks in their own right (not unlike the guy who used to surf Mavericks before it was known as such - basically alone surfing it because no one had the chutzpah to do so).
