Doctors said Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones is in “critical condition,” despite reports from a Cleveland newspaper that the Democrat died after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones is being treated in a Cleveland hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
The newspaper reported earlier Wednesday that Tubbs Jones had died.
Ms. Tubb-Jones was the first black woman to represent Ohio, first elected in 1998. She was also the first black woman to serve on the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
Update: Ms. Tubbs-Jones passed away at 6pm this evening.

I’ve lost a couple of friends and a 44 year old brother in law to a brain aneurysm. More than likely she is on life support. It’s tough to pull the plug. She is a great warrior and will be sorely missed if the situation is as critical as i fear.
