    I’ll say something…

You all are living in a dream… A bad dream. And it has nothing to do with who is President. I cannot imagine sitting here everyday wondering what the hell I am gonna do next, how I am so offended by what is going and how I have to shout explicitives all over some weblog to show everyone just how cool I am.

I am actually disappointed in the attitudes shown on this blog the last couple of days. Sadly I fell into it by mocking you all. In reality nobody wants to lay harm into anyone, but this stuff is really goofy and out there.

I wondered as I sat on the plane home, watching McCain’s speech on the tiny little TV in front of my seat, about the people who thought they had the right to attempt to ruin his speech. Face it, it wasn’t that it was McCain up there… Hell… right now anyone but Obama would have gotten trash talked by Code Pink or whomever. I guess it is a free country and people have the right to protest in America. It is actually, an unalienable right to do so. But how does someone conjure up that much anger in their hearts and minds to plot, and trick their way into a convention like that and rise out of their seat at the opportune time to selfishly shake things up when it is completely out of their place and out of their turn to do so. It was McCain’s turn to speak and like it or not… It was his turn! America votes and that is how he got there to speak. Whether you disagree completely with what he had to say, you look like a complete asshole running down the middle of the crowd, being a complete asshole. Why is that there is such a right, or actually such a need for someone all welled up with that much rage… that much hate inside, to pull this shit like they are the martyr to “their people”? “Their people”, are the only ones who really care that they do it in the first place… the rest of us don’t give a shit… the rest of America thinks it is despicable.

I actually got scared… I thought, what if one of these protesting people makes a scene? A historical scene? People have been that crazy before, just ask Sirhan Sirhan or Mark David Chapman. People have been attacked or seriously injured by people like these extremist crazies…

Sadly, last night… I thought some of you that I have come to know the past four years of BIO, had become extremist crazies. Spouting off four letter words… Calling some lady you knew nothing about until last week a liar. A lady that was trashed by bloggers all over this country as a threat, a scandal and a liar before she even spoke. I cannot believe we have come to this. To pick apart someone like that we know nothing about, because we hate all that they stand for, when we know nothing about it… at all.

We don’t have a decision to make on November 4th, we have a Day of Reckoning as far as I am concerned. If we go one way, we do face the challenges and uncertainties of inexperienced leader, with both houses of Congress being of his party. And if we choose the other way, we continue this polarized world and the bat shit crazies become just a bit more bat shit crazy as things continue to not go their way. And if you take a step back… the majority of us are in good health, (not me) good jobs (me) or decent careers that fund meager livings we are completely content with (the 95% of us, including me) and we will continue on living life as we know it, growing families and paying taxes without a real worry in the world, while a small elected group of people continues to spend our hard earned tax dollars on wars, ear marks and pork barrels.

And then there are the extremists on both sides.. pointing fingers, making Photoshopped blog posts about people they dislike and creating little groups and cliques like their own self righteous, self serving hearts are so important they feel the need to tell the rest of us normal people how to live. .

Steve O said it was an open post. To everyone on both sides, talking trash and throwing shit at each other and tagging misleading websites and snippets from other blogs and news stories to show the 95% of the world that doesn’t give a shit how cool or “smart” or witty they are about the particular candidate… I will only say this once: FUCK YOU!!!

    Steve,

You broke it you buy it.

Your party deserves everything that is coming down the pike. And Palin is a fucking whore that deserves EVERYTHING that Washington politics can throw at her. How dare she come out as an attack dog like that, and giggle like she learned something new, then expect that she can run and hide behind her vagina. I hope Biden fucks her where she breathes. Dude I was fairly moderate four years ago, didn’t really follow politics and I’m down right fucking pissed at how this Republican administration has fucked us and people like you have stayed complacent and apologistic even as your own rights have been stripped. And to add insult to injury, the cherry on top, people like you try and tell us to shut the fuck up about Sarah because your party told you too.

Seriously, I have watched people drop out earlier and I would say that the other side can be talked to, can be convinced and those people said they were done debating and have no interest. I now understand and with all do offense please accept this big fuck you and things really willnot be politically nice anymore around here.

Steve, first of all are you under some odd notion that there were protests at ONLY the Republican convention? Hardly; plenty of nut jobs were tossed out of the Democratic convention as well. You saw nearly identical scenes at both. In what seemed like sincere concern from you, I didn’t hear one word about the threats on Obama’s life that have come in regularly since he announced his candidacy.

As far as Palin being attacked, that is just nonsense. She is going to come under huge scrutiny and any reasonable person knows that. I can’t speak for anyone else but I called her a liar when she lied. Her celebrity luanch was NOTHING BUT lies. Not debatable statements, not speculative. LIES. I realize our current culture doesn’t scrutinize lies like it used to. The mainstream media is now only concerned with how well the lies are delivered. And you wonder why the blogospere is in the mode it’s in? Because we are sick of it!

Welcome to this year’s Democratic Party!!

    Megan:

No one had to right to say Trig was Bristol’s first kid as a way to discredit Sarah’s candidacy. It was made up and stupid and for a few short days… You all believed it.

I have a copy of US magazine, the one with Babies, Scandals and Lies on the cover. I read it and cannot find the lies. If you found the lies, show me which page they are on. I cannot even find a freaking scandal. Bristol being pregnant? Uh… that is not a scandal. John Edwards having an affair after he said he was sticking by his cancer ridden wife.. Um.. that is a scandal.

You must have skimmed over the part where I said:

“And then there are the extremists on both sides.. pointing fingers, making Photoshopped blog posts about people they dislike and creating little groups and cliques like their own self righteous, self serving hearts are so important they feel the need to tell the rest of us normal people how to live. .”

And the media went way out of their way not to show those protests. It’s called protectionism.
Why does Obama need to be protected? Isn’t he his own man?

Why no trashing of McCain’s speech yet? You have to wait to find out what the talking points of the day is first?

Or was is because it was actually a home run showing how much more capable he is and honest.

At least he didn’t need the showmanship and the phony hype. That speech may have showed the undecided who the right choice is.

    Steve,

I’m one of those people and I’m none of those people you mentioned above. And seriously, after watching Sarah and Rudy back to back I will fucking stop at nothing now. I will spread the lies if need be and I will not feel ashamed. I will make up the lies if they’re not there yet. Fuck it. It’s what you guys have been doing for eight years. You’ve seen nothing yet baby. Character assassination is what it is called and I pray to the spaghetti monster that sweet little attack dog Sarah is reduced to the Alaskan bitch mutt that she is

    lisa,

The speech sucked, it honestly had nothing new in it and just promised 4 more years of Bush.

Kind of hard to play yourself off as an agent of change when for 27 years you have been part of the problem

Steve, why would I need to explain or make excuses for US magazine? If it was a shitty article it was a shitty article. You have decided that “we”, BIO, or the blogosphere is your nemesis. Why don’t you direct your angst to the MSM?

And Lisa, have you not read anything this morning or are you just talking about BIO? EVERYONE seems to be in pretty good agreement that the McCain speech was terribly delivered. As far as the message–as always it depends on the listener. The portions of it that didn’t force me to slip out of consciousness amounted to the same rubbish “they” have been trying to cram down our throats for 7 years. They can continue to try to sell it all they like but they have substantially fewer buyers.

    Megan:

There is more to life than the Daily Kos, assuming that’s who you define as EVERYONE. I am part of Everyone… and I thought the speech was great. So I guess, not EVERYONE agrees with you.

And people like “you” are the one’s working in the MSM that write dribble like US Magazine. Jann Wenner owns US Magazine as well as Rolling Stone magazine. I subscribed to Rolling Stone for almost 15 years. I dumped them when they became an elitest left wing rag after Rock N Roll died.

Here is your chance Megan. Your turn to enlighten me. Tell me why we need to vote for Obama. I will listen.

  18. By Megan on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

lol - it just amazes me just how uninformed someone can be. I’ve done this with you before Steve but your memory fails you I guess. I don’t support the Daily Kos or read it…ever. Having said that, if you think the Daily Kos are the only ones who think McCain’s speech was awful then you haven’t taken any kind of sampling at all.

And people like me are the ones working in the MSM? What in the hell are you talking about? You don’t understand the difference between the political blogosphere and the MSM?

  19. By Megan on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

Steve, I don’t stand in line to enlighten anyone or tell them why they should vote for anyone. I am advocate always for reasoned debate, unfortunately that is a dead animal for the most part. And it’s not what you want Steve. You want me to waste my time making a logical argument for an Obama presidency so you can tell me what a radical leftist I am. I am not at all interested in that type of nonsense.

  20. By christopher Radulich on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

The most amazing thing about his speech is the fact that he said he was running against himself and his party. Considering how he has been running his campaign I doubt if he was telling the truth. But that is normal for a republican

  21. By Lisa on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

It sucked? Are you kidding SteveO. So only if he could read the teleprompter more eloquently it would be good? I bet if Obama gave the exact same speech you would be drippling all over your keyboard about it. It was good and real, not fake and pandering.

Megan I ate to tell you but Obama’s speech said absolutely nothing. Empty words that’s all I have ever heard him say. It’s all scripted. All phony and he has no right to be the president of America. McCain spoke from his heart not from a playbill.Obama has no prerequisite whatsoever. He’s not the one running anyway it’s Moveon who is running his whole show.
I do like him and he is a “nice guy” but that’s where it ends with me because unlike the media frenzy that has been propped up around him I can see right through it.

  22. By Megan on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

Lisa you are absolutely entitled to have that opinion and I am sure you meant that Obama’s speech said nothing to YOU. It speaks volumes to many. Your vote is yours. I hope that each vote cast…on either side reflects the voter’s highest held principles. I will say this though as you made a pretty outrageous statement here. Obama has EVERY right to be President. It is the right of any and every American to seek office. I don’t think you realize just how egregious your statement was.

  23. By Lisa on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

Oh okay Megan so I guess Palin has just as much right too?
The lefts next big project is to try and compile a list of Obama’s qualifications because none of you or any democrat seems to be able to answer that one.
I find that very interesting that you support someone who is basically just a speaker who can’t speak without a script.
Obama’s speech speaks volumes? Maybe you should check your speakers they may not be turned on.

  24. By manapp99 on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

“It is the right of any and every American to seek office.”

Actually you have to be 35 years old. Isn’t anyone going to come out against this evil age discrimination? What kind of country are we that will not allow anyone to be president regardless of age? Where is the outrage?

How about reparations for those under 35?

  25. By Megan on Sep 5, 2008 | Reply

Sure she has a right to. And there will be people who would support that and people who don’t. Lisa this is just silly honestly. To you and anyone else who doesn’t know a thing about Obama’s record or accomplishments I will say - pick something up and read it, inform yourself, arm yourself with the slightest bit of information before you engage someone in an argument because the “Obama hasn’t done anything” line shows an astounding lack of simple, basic information for pity’s sake. It’s silly and untrue, I just don’t understand why more people aren’t at all concerned about making ridiculous declarative statements. Obama isn’t your candidate, fine but would be so terrible to be even slightly informed? Would it be so terrible to intelligently argue your disagreement with the Obama policy? My speakers don’t work? That’s the best you have Lisa?

Here’s a link to the bills introduced by Obama in 2005/06.

    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/?&Db=d109&querybd=@FIELD(FLD003+@4((@1(Sen+Obama++Barack))+01763))

Rather more than nothing, wouldn’t you say? Thus Sarah Palin is ignorant of the facts (possible) or lying (also possible).

For comparsion, here’s John McCain’s from the same website

    Lisa,
If you’re actually serious about wanting to find out about Obama, Google “Obama Bills”. One of the links that comes back is to the Library of Congress where you’ll see the bills he’s been involved with. That’s some experience.

For some reason I can’t provide the link directly.

I saw some of his “involvement” on some bills Paul but my it still doesn’t answer to me about his qualifications. After all why would the guy running for the hihest office n the country have to choose VP with a resume 100x his own?

Why would Obama pick Biden as a running mate when Biden said Obama was not qualified to lead?
