Just A Quick Question

September 25th, 2008 | by Windspike |

Given that Wall Street is poised for a major bail out - borderline social welfare for wealthy individuals - I just have one small question: Where’s the 700 Billion Dollar Bail Out for America’s public educational institutions?

It strikes me as odd that Americans would rather have their children in schools that are literally falling apart when the wouldn’t ever consider working an 8 hour day in one of them. How about we swap out the financial industry facilities and have them go to work in our nations schools and let our children have the plush office spaces they obviously were not using ethically.

Great idea… I put meat on the table by designing schools! (And it’s been a rough 8 years!) Trickle down my ass!

The cost of a well designed new school; environmentally-friendly and high-tech, equipped and furnished, books and all, averages less than $25 million.

Every single county in every state in this entire country could build five brand-new schools and we’d still have over $315 billion left over for roads, bridges, and other infrastructure that has been falling apart while we focused on “caves” in the Middle East.

It will never happen; The GOPowers-that-be prefer a dumbed-down zombie populace that will buy the lies without question.

How about we do? Within five years, the industrialists would have all new facilities and would be operating at a profit, the children would have trashed the former plush offices of the industrialists and neither the teaching nor the learning would have improved one whit. Why? Because free enterprise allows the productive to produce; schools would still be hampered by kids who don’t want to be in school and don’t care about learning and inept teachers who cannot be fired because they have tenure. The change of locations would not change one thing other than being a short-term, minor inconvenience to the industrialists.
