Britain Bombs Iran-Says ‘Kidnapped’ Soldiers Valid Reason For War

Following the lead of last summer’s Israeli attack against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Great Britain today began bombing the hell out of Iranian infrastructure after the Iranian Navy detained 15 British sailors operating in the persian Gulf.

Former UN Ambassador from the United States John Bolton noted that he was “damned proud” of Britain for their decision. Israel is also backing the retaliation, noting that if the kidnapping of 2 Israeli soldiers was good enough to set back Lebanon half a century and kill up to 1000 Lebanese civilians, Britain should be able to wipe out at least 7500 Iranian civilians while decimating the city of Tehran.

After all, if it’s okay for Israel, it’s okay for the UK, right?

Bush Administration Prefers War To Peace

In an interview with the BBC, former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton said that during the Israeli-Hezbollah in Lebanon last summer, Washington did not support any sort of cease fire between the warring parties until Israel eliminated Hezbollah’s military capability. Only once it was cleaer that Israel’s campaign was not going to work did the Bush Administration join efforts to end the conflict.

Bolton went on to say that he was “damned proud of what we did” to prevent an early ceasefire. Damn proud? With over 1000 Lebanese civilians dead in the conflictand the massive destruction of the infrastructure of one of the more democratic countries in the region, Bolton is “damned proud?”

Let’s’ make no mistake. Hezbollah has done many things that put them in the category of ‘terrorist organization.’ But how does supporting a war in which more civilians were killed than combatants make our government (or those of Israel or Britain -who also supported a longer war action?) any less of a terrorist to the civilian population of Lebanon? Frankly, it doesn’t.

AIPAC Influences Upcoming Military Spending Bill

Surprise, surpirse! A day after House Speaker Pelosi met with leaders of AIPAC she announces that she is withdrawing a provision from the upcoming military spending bill that would have required President Bush to seek congressional approval before attacking Iran. She stated that the reason the provision was being removed was because it could potentially harm Israel.

Several officials said there was widespread opposition to the proposal at a closed-door meeting last week of conservative and moderate Democrats, who said they feared tying the hands of the administration when dealing with an unpredictable and potentially hostile regime in Tehran.
Tying the hands of the administration? Jeebus, not only should their hands be tied but they should also have their feet bound, their mouths gagged and be made to wear orange jump suits with black hoods.

So remember this, when American soldiers are spilling their blood in downtown Tehran it has everything to do with the national security of Israel and not our national security.

AIPAC — The One Thing Both Parties Can Agree On

AIPAC opens their annual policy conference in Washington DC on Sunday (can’t be Saturday because a few of their members have other obligations). Among the speakers at the conference will be Dick Cheney and Nancy Pelosi and you can guarantee both their hands will be extended looking for cash. “Yes, we support the genocide Israel is conducting in the middle east, now pay me!” “Yes, we approve of Israel not honoring any of the U.N. resolutions passed against them, now pay me!” “Yes, we will sacrifice America’s sons and daughters in the interest of advancing Israels world views, now pay me!”

How can it be legal for a foreign government to have this much influence over our domestic politics?

“Aipac is very influential because they have the grass roots organisation, when a congressman first comes to Washington he already knows Aipac, he has met their activists in his district, he knows what it means to be pro-Israel.”
Interesting comment, wouldn’t you say?

It’s simple, not being pro-Israel and questioning their world view and you risk being branded an anti-Semite and losing millions in campaign contributions. Say it with me people “E-X-T-O-R-T-I-O-N!”

What is the Israeli Defense Minister Looking At?

This would explain why he didn’t see the civilians he murdered in Lebanon.

Our Rabid President- Can We Avert War In Iran?

Twice now, I have written posts regarding President Bush and his increasing warlike rhetoric towards Iran.

After cruising the through the ‘internets’ this evening, I began to get an increasingly sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It seems that I am far from being alone in reading the tea leaves on the White House saucers. Governments, pundits, and average citizens across the globe are growing ever more wary of America, and in particular, of our rabid-dog president, George Bush. It is becoming more and more apparent that Bush and his neo-con cadre of chickenhawks are intent on drawing Iran into the Bush War on Terror.

The parallels to Iraq are unmistakable: The pretense of exercising ‘all diplomatic efforts’ to resolve the specific dispute(s); the claims that Iran is on the verge of nuclear weaponhood and is an imminent threat to American security; the amassing of US Naval forces and defensive weaponry in the immediate region; and a beligerant, two-bit head of state that seemingly invites aggression.

ING — “Attacking Iran: The market impact of a surprise Israeli strike on its nuclear facilities.”

Now the bankers are getting jittery. This isn’t good.

ING’s Robertson admitted that an attack on Iran was “high impact, if low probability,” but explained some of the reasons why a strike might go forward. The Jan. 9 dispatch, describes Israel as “not prepared to accept the same doctrine of ‘mutually assured destruction’ that kept the peace during the Cold War. Israel is adamant that this is not an option for such a geographically small country….So if Israel is convinced Iran is aiming to develop a nuclear weapon, it must presumably act at some point.”
The Dems have no choice, they must stop any and all funding that the Shrub thinks he can get his greedy little hands on. The power of the purse is the only way.

Oi Vay! It’s No Longer Cool To Be Country?

Oh my God! The sky is falling!
Would you give me a freakin’ break? Jimmy Carter is a man of principle who speaks his mind. Always has, probably always will. He has spent a lifetime being a conciliatory force between warring factions, so now when he takes a politically incorrect, yet somewhat intelligent stand on the modern Israeli/Arab conflict, now suddenly all those Jewish brethren who were happy to tag the Carter Center in their volunteer resumes for untold profitable benefit, now they find the man’s politics untenable? CNN spins this as a mass exodus of staunch Carter followers

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — Former President Jimmy Carter’s controversial book and subsequent remarks about the Israel-Palestinian conflict have prompted the resignations of 14 people from an advisory board of the Carter Center, the 25-year-old Atlanta-based humanitarian organization.

Spitzer Spits on the Jewish Lobby

About time someone stood up to these thugs.

Spitzer on Monday banned members of his administration from accepting any gift including support-building missions to Israel that might permit the inference of being intended to influence the individual in the performance of official business.
Good. If they want to learn about Israel let them Google it or better yet just go to What Really Happened.
