  1. mike Says :

hi, nice list, i guess.  now, i’ve been a democrat since i started voting, so i have no right wing agenda here at all, but, what’s the point of this list?  how many democrats through the ages should be on this too?  i mean, pedophilia can’t a strictlt right wing problem.  anyway, i was just curious.

  2. NewsGnome Says :

    Steve O,
Obviously, you intently follow pedophfilia cases. I bet you’ve read every pedophilia case you can find. As “mike” says, a list of Democrats could easily be prepare equally long. You could even add Bill Clinton, a 50-year old-man abusing his power and position to sexually use a 21-year-old intern less than half his age…but of course you wouldn’t count that one, unless he were a Republican doing the abusing. Your excuse?…she was “of age.” Obviously, you don’t have daughters.

And even this, Foley’s despicible actions, you Democrats try to politicized pedophilia. You have politicized the war on terror being fought to protect America. It graphically illustrates just how sick Democrats have become. It’s just amazing to see the lengths to which you Democrats twist yourselves and your thinking to gain political power.

Your intense fixation on child pedophilia reveals your sexual proclivities. NG

  3. Saborlas Says :

NewsGnome, let’s take a looksie at your post.

I’ve encountered a similar list that named both Democrats and Republicans. The Repubs outnumbered the Dems by such a vast majority that one cannot help but make assumptions.

Bill Clinton wouldn’t be on either list because having sex with a 21 year old is not pedophilia. Not having been there, I don’t know if he abused his authority, or if Monica secretly had a fantasy about sucking off the most powerful man in the world.

I don’t condone what Clinton did with Monica, but you Repubs CONTINUE to frame it as something far worse than it actually was. If your precious Bush gets caught in such an act, will you be as vicious towards him as you were towards Clinton? Somehow, I doubt it. Cute double standard you got there.

  4. photog606 Says :

    mike, NewsGnome,
I think you’ll find a simple Google search would reveal the ratio is probably about 10 to 1. Rather than direct party affiliation, it seems to have more to do with the fact that the majority of them are “religious radicals” making them more likely Republican.

  5. Jersey McJones Says :

    This list never gets old.

    JMJ

  6. Jersey McJones Says :

Newsgnome is in denial.  Of course the GOPhers are going to run the pederast lists - they’re all sexually hung-up.

    JMJ

  7. Craig R. Harmon Says :

Well, if somebody can point to a study where actual research was done regarding pedophila and religious affiliation or political affiliation, then fine. Until then, I don’t think anyone has any idea whether the ratio would be 10-1 or roughly 50-50. That kind of statement, with no backup, is meaningless.

  8. windspike Says :

My, my, my, the GOP perversion of hypocrisy knows no bounds

  9. Craig R. Harmon Says :

Clinton’s relative age to Monica is irrelevant. By 21, you’re old enough to make decisions about whom to do what with. It’s silly to talk about that in the same breath as pedophilia. On the other hand, the power difference between the leader of the free world and an intern is vast and the potential for abuse of power, great but that doesn’t prevent Monica from having been a willing participant.

I don’t know whether she was or not, by the way, since I never followed it all that much.

  10. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    Windspike,

My, my, my, the GOP perversion of hypocrisy knows no bounds

How does one pervert hypocrisy? :^)

  11. Jersey McJones Says :

I can’t find a link, but I do recall reading that 80% of reported pederast crimes are committed by white men between the ages of 25 and 45 - a very Republican demographic, Craig.

    JMJ

  12. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    Jersey,

That figure I accept because I’ve read things to that effect, myself but that’s not quite the same thing as saying that they are 10 to 1 Republicans. Lots of Democrats are white men between 25 and 45. Before one makes a point about pedophiles being 10 to 1 Republicans or Christians, one ought to actually have some evidence, otherwise it’s pure bullshit.

When I see some evidence, it doesn’t pass the smell test.

Even if one finds such evidence I don’t know that it proves what I think he’s trying to prove because in America, white Christians probably outnumber non-white non-Christians by quite a bit. What one really needs is a study that shows that Christian pedophiles, relative to the whole population of Christians outnumbers the number of non-Christian pedophiles relative to the total non-Christian population.

For the evidence of party affiliation and pedophiles one needs a study that breaks down, well, the political affiliation of pedophiles.

  13. steve Says :

Craig, I think the 80% number of 25-45 white males  is the demographic of this blog.

There is a great number of white males 25-45 running these political blogs for that matter.

Yahoo indicated today in a story (sorry I can’t find the link but it was in the Yahoo news) that 1/3 of the US was either Asian, Hispanic or African American, so saying that white males 25-45 are more likely Republican and sadly more likely to be pedophiles is probably true.  However white males of that demographic are more likely to also be psychokillers and mass murderers like Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dalhmer.  Also note, James Earl Ray(probable Republican or Southern Democrat), John Hinkley (most likely Democrat with the Jodie Foster thing, ha ha no speculation there eh?) and of course Mark David Chapman ( paid by CIA to eliminate “terrorist” threat)

  14. NewsGnome Says :

To: Saborlas, photog606. JMJ, Windspike, Graig R. Harmon and SteveO

Thanks for proving my point that Democrats are politicizing pedophilia.

To 606: So you think a google search equals research….typical of fiberal thinking.

To Craig R. Harmon: so you think cheating on your wife in democracy’s most hallowed hall with a 21-year-old by a 50 year old in contravention of written laws is OK, interesting. As I understand your conclusions, you and the rest of your BIO friends excuse cheating on your wife, sexually harassing a subordinate and defiling the oval office. Great policy, and politics. Keep it up.

To Jersey McJones: Ya know, I thought 90 per cent of the leadership of the Democrat party were white men, which mean you are now adding race to your pedophilia pandering for political reasons. I’ve got to say that your conclusion would really be very funny if it weren’t so distorted and sick.

To Windspike: perversion of hypocrisy…you must have been saving that one for years.

To: CRH: “How does one pervert hypocrisy?” SteveO’s post is a perfect example of perverting hypocrisy. Democrats who have cornered the market on hypocrisy, and are now using pediophilia to pervert a very sad problem, that is not the province of either party or any race, by the way. But, you’re all so good at perverted hypocrisy as your comments prove.

PS: Sorry guys, I have a real life and won’t be able to respond for a bit. I have to go live a real life.

  15. steve Says :

What?  I think I am gonna step to the left and fight NewsGnome.

    Bring it on!!!

  16. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    NewsGnome,

To Craig R. Harmon: so you think cheating on your wife in democracy’s most hallowed hall with a 21-year-old by a 50 year old in contravention of written laws is OK, interesting.

I never said any such thing. I said:

Clinton’s relative age to Monica is irrelevant. By 21, you’re old enough to make decisions about whom to do what with.

By which I mean just that. I don’t condone breaking laws. Although there may be instances where civil disobedience may be quite laudable, the Clinton-Lewinsky affair doesn’t fall under that category.

I said nothing about cheating on one’s wife being okay. I dislike it intensely.

I was speaking in terms of this not being pedophilia. You can’t commit pedophilal acts with a 21 year old woman. By definition, a pedophilial act is sexual contact with a child, a minor, someone under 18. Since 21 is not under 18, what Clinton did with Monica was not pedophilial in nature. I suppose a woman who is mentally/emotionally the functional equivalent of a child might qualify, I don’t know the legalities of that matter but then I have no reason to suppose that Monica is challenged in that manner.

Also, I may not have been sufficiently clear about it (although, frankly, I think I was) but I was discussing consensual acts. I said also that with the power difference between President and intern, the possibility that a young woman of 21 might have felt pressured into the sex. Of course, I do not condone non-consensual sex of any kind.

  17. Craig R. Harmon Says :

Also, my comment on perversion of hypocrisy was a joke. What Windspike meant, of course, was something like ‘the perversion which is hypocrisy. The problem with such constructions is that they can be read in a number of ways. One way, although clearly not the way intended, is taking hypocrisy and perverting it. The way I know that this was not Windspikes meaning is that that second reading yields no sense. One cannot pervert hypocrisy since hypocrisy is already a perversion: a perversion of integrity.

  18. ckmunson Says :

Intersting list. I am curious to see the list of all politicians (R,D,I etc.) and their Pedophilia connection. I don’t care what party you belong to - it has no business in Goverment. I don’t find it shocking it happens - but what I do find shocking is how many people knew and didn’t do anything about it. If it is true that the Republicans who knew Hasterd and Boehner actively worked to conceal it from the only Democrat on the House Page Board - then it was THEY who made it a Republican problem. If your going to take the time and chance to concel something - then your taking ownership. This behavior has no place in my government.

  20. LesserFool Says :

Freud would have a field day with the Puritan-wannabe, “family values”-promoting Republicans of today. I’ve long suspected that those who seek to control others are merely projecting their own fears. They fear their own sexual thoughts and urges; and think they can defang them by taking strong moral stands, promoting “traditional family values,” and coming out against homosexuals and anyone/anything else who/that deviates from their narrow view of “normal.” But, suppressed psychological manifestations have a way of rearing their head despite all attempts to “get rid of them.” As long as there are Public Puritans in our midst, there will always be Private Perverts doing dirty deeds in secret.

  21. LesserFool Says :

The proportion of atheists to theists in prison is about the same as the proportion in the general population. Yet, there seems to be no end to the fallacious idea that theists are more able/moral/better etc. to be public leaders than those who do not confess belief in invisible entities.

And that’s those who’ve been caught. We have an old saying in Canada, where there’s a spark there’s a fire.

  24. Keith R Says :

It’s proabaly the tip of the iceburg

  25. Romi Elnagar Says :

I am outraged.  Even Hitler, who had syphilis, confined his secual attentions, such as they were, to a grown woman.

I am copying this list and sending it to my own (Republican) Congressman, Richard Baker of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I’m gonna tell him I’n glad to see that he is not on the list.  (Baton Rougeans are pretty stiff and HE BETTER NOT EVER BE!).

I wonder, though, how many of these monsters are his friends as well as his colleagues.

  26. James Says :

Everyone should read “Trance-Formation of America” by Cathy O’brien and Mark Phillips. Here are some highlights from the book:

  27. laurie Says :

Seems out of the 61 Republicans accused, charged, arrested, or whatever….only 16 served time in jail….let’s see if Democrats who fall in that awful habit get off so easy…..in fact, today if you as a patriot stand against the tyranny of the government, you will serve time….I guess its peds over patriots…….

  28. NewsGnome Says :

To Steve: And all this time, I thought you were against violence but your trying to call me out? If you want to fight, join the army, maybe it could utilize your hatred of Bush, against people who are actually working to kill Americans. But of course, you don’t care about that.

To LesserFool: After reading your comment I can only conclude you want to provide an environment detrimental of families. But because someone wants to provide such an atmosphere, doesn’t make them deviants as you would conclude, according to your definition. It’s interesting that you oppose efforts to take “strong moral stands.” You just define moral differently that those you criticize. The extension of that generalization would lead to a conclusion that you would approve of an environment that is, in fact, amoral. You can raise your family in that type of world, not me…and the truth is that extrapolating your definition to its logical conclusion is that pedophilia is justified. You should just drop the Lesser and you have a good name for yourself.

To: Laurie: DEMOCRAT Gary Studds gets a 16-year-old mail congressional page drunk and forcibly rapes him. The Congressional Democrats give him three standing ovations, and the Massachusetts Democrats elect him to congress two more times despite the rape. How much jail time did Studds get Laurie?

On the other hand, Foley writes some despicable and actionable emails and it’s worse than what Studds did. The difference?…Foley resigns, he doesn’t rape a page and run for re-election like Studds. I would have thought you and your Democrat friend would be giving Foley standing ovations.

I thought you fiberals got over sex. Wasn’t it James Carville who said that it’s only sex. You can lie about sex. Where were you people when Clinton was lying about his sex, cheating on his wife, raping Juanita Broaddrick, fondling Kathleen Willey, demanding sex from Paula Jones, lying to a federal judge, cheating with Jennifer Flowers and lying on CBS with Hillary’s help. You and your friends were justifying anything and everything Clinton did, and I might point out is still doing, cheating on his wife in the process.

Oh, that’s right, it’s just sex. If you fiberal Democrats think you can win on justifying pedophilia in the case of Studds and attacking in the case of Foley, you are sadly mistaken. When voters step into the quite privacy of the voting booth, they’re going to say…who will keep America safer, Republicans or Cut and Run Democrats…and they already know the answer.

Still trying to politicize pediophilia. It’s a losing effort.

  29. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    Laurie,

As you, yourself, say: “let’s see if Democrats who fall in that awful habit get off so easy…”

That sounds as though you have no idea whether Democrats who fall into that awful habit do or don’t get off that easy but then you continue your comment assuming that they don’t. If you have a link to share that backs that up, please don’t be stingy with it. Share your proof.

  30. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    NewsGnome,

To Steve: And all this time, I thought you were against violence but your trying to call me out? If you want to fight, join the army, maybe it could utilize your hatred of Bush, against people who are actually working to kill Americans. But of course, you don’t care about that.

Grow up and get over yourself. No one is calling you out or even threatening violence against you. We are pointing out what we see as the errors in your arguments.

I, for one, do not hate Bush. I voted for him twice. I don’t agree with a lot of his policies and I think he’s botched both Afghanistan and Iraq good and proper but I don’t hate him. I criticize him when I think he’s wrong, just like I criticize people here, both on the right and on the left, when I think they are wrong.

I do care, very much so, about the men and women who are fighting those who wish to kill Americans. To say that anyone here does not care about them or what they are doing is to misunderstand what people here are saying. I do not know of one person here who does not think that terrorists ought to be opposed. The thing is, people here see the mess in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere and think that we are fighting them in the wrong way.

Oh, and by the way, there are plenty of people here who HAVE fought people who wish to kill Americans or whose spouses and other family members and loved ones ARE fighting those who wish to kill Americans so be a tad more circumspect about what you throw around about them.

  31. BlueyBlogger Says :

Both George Bushes, Dick Cheney, plus a few others in office close to them, should also be added to that list of Paedophiles.

  32. Edward I Says :

Democrats are politicizing pedophilia???  So, what’s worse, politicizing it, or actually DOING IT?!  Republicans NEVER and I mean NEVER are capable of seeing the difference in the MEASURE of a crime.  They cannot see that one thing is actually worse than another.  I suppose that’s why there are so many more Republican criminals out there.  They just don’t see what’s so wrong or immoral about what they do.  They try to compare Monica Lewinski to an 8 year old girl?  Apples vs Oranges.  Everytime the Republicans (and all of them do it) get into some kind of trouble, they immediately shout, “Clinton!  Clinton!  Look at Clinton!”  Stop that please.  It’s just moronic and getting old.  Clinton is NOT in power now.  The Republicans are.  And they are doing everything, and I do mean everything, on every level that is thousands of times more corrupt, immoral, unconstitutional, and criminal than any democrat ever has in history.

It is a FACT that Republicans are more likely to be closeted gays, homosexuals, perverts and criminals than democrats.  They are also more likely to be chickenhawks and NOT served their country.  They are more likely to be WARMONGERS as well.  A true soldier knows the dangers of war and doesn’t enter into it lightly.  Republicans?  Well, it’s not them doing the dying.  Sickos.

And, don’t get me started on the goddamn Catholics and their pervo priests………… More religious nut bags!

I’ll be the first to say that this whole thing is meaningless.

Of course they molest! Thats just the tip of the iceburg.  Get out of your sports mentality and read between the lines.

Everyone is so split down the middle that you are all helpless.  Wake up!  We are all making ourselves sooo vulnerable to the elite control mechanism.  Republicans/Democrats are two sides of one coin.

There’s a new division coming….and you had better understand its a choice between love or fear…stand up for people, not parties or countries.  Lets talk about a global minimum wage, lets talk about everybody getting their noses out of the spin cycle and into the faces of whats really going down…the FEAR machine is crunching away as you bicker about nonsense!

This isn’t about passively letting youself being killed by a terrorist or letting a few white men manipulate your perceptions….we need to stand up and take control of our tax money, our laws, start listening to you instincts!  This congress is working together!  They know whats up….these are highly educated people,  unfortunately this doesn’t mean they are good people!  These folks are taking us places that are wrong and fear is their vehicle.  Lets get off this thing and run our own show.

China is a slave state and we are all implicated!   We are feeding more pain and suffering through pure self induced ignorance then anyone on this globe.  The bottom line is that text messages are absolutely meaningless!  Just like a child avoiding his homework, we are fixating on a little cookie while the real work sits on our head!  Lets get these corporations out of third world countries, let’s invest in people, not WALMART!

I know that this is nothing more than pissing in the wind.  The sad reality is that we don’t see the big crunch coming.  The third world is getting smarter, universal information outlets are becoming a reality and there is going to come a time when we all are held accountable for being the number one consumer of the world’s labor, energy and natural resources……they are coming….probably another ten years (thats a LIBERAL guess)….

Now is the time to take off all your buttons and colors and get to work.  No more T.V. nights….fill your time with actions and thoughts of how we can transition into this new world the smoothest way possible….otherwise I’m afraid few of us will have much to look forward to.

    thanks.

    theres just ONE

Uptightness!! It’s not good to be so uptight because girls don’t like corny dudes…LOL.  Uptightness leads to sexual frustration.  You see where I’m goin with this.  WHY are republicans the 1st to be against gay marriage but the 1st to have sex with a boy???Maybee they’re projecting their insecurities on other people.   WHY are republicans the biggest hypocrites???  Example: Rush Limbaugh and the war on  drugs!!  We all know how many pills he was choking on, and maybee dicks too, HA!.  Bottom line Republicans=Pedophiles=Losers…..LOL..HA HA!!

It’s not good to be so uptight because girls don’t like corny dudes…LOL.  Uptightness leads to sexual frustration.  You see where I’m goin with this.  WHY are republicans the 1st to be against gay marriages but the 1st to have sex with a boy???Maybee they’re projecting their insecurities on other people.

    Craig R. Harmon,
My “10 to 1″ comment was a generalization based purely on my own observation of available news stories. Regardless, a search of “Republican pedophiles” vs “Democrat pedophiles” yields a ridiculously lopsided ratio. Since I’m not a Democrat myself, I don’t point it out to defend Democrats.

Funny how Republicans get so bent out of shape about the politicalization of pedophilia since they have no problem politicizing their claim to have a monopoly on morale values - “Godless” liberals as Man Coulter might say.

As far as the religion connection, how many studies do you want? It’s fairly unanimous among sexual behaviorists that many children brought up with strict religious views on sex end up as sexually dysfunctional adults…

“Antisexualism on children has terrible consequences. Most people who engage in sex crimes were raised with strict antisexual, repressive attitudes.”
-Dr. John Money of Johns Hopkins Medical School, a leading expert on sexual violence

“Among the most common emotional problems we see in people with sexual disorders is guilt or shame about sexual pleasure. These are leftovers from old ‘messages’ that sex is disgusting, sinful, and harmful.”
-Helen Singer Kaplan, professor of psychiatry at Cornell Medical Center

Of course the Republican party may just happen to attract more pedophiles because they can find cover behind the pseudo “holier than thou” propaganda.
Ironically the “party of God” has three inverted pentagrams on their logo.

     WTF?

Power corrupts - Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Bang the sickos up in Gitmo and throw away the key - along with all the child molesting Dems too.

Why are Americans so blind when it comes to politics. Pick a colour folks - it doesn’t matter. The agenda is the same - the delivery will be slightly different.

KY or no KY, you’re going to get stuffed.

    LOL

  39. Sharpinchicago Says :

There is an inherent defect in social and evangelical conservative viewpoints that denies human nature while simultaneously “feeding the bear” that is patriarchal, domination-obsessed and power hungry.

Sexuality is a part of LIFE.  All animals and plants reproduce in their respective ways.  IT’S NATURAL.

Conservatism has, to a considerable extent, demonized sex and nudity, pushing it down and out of sight, into the shadows where it WILL manifest its desires but not in a good way.  Out of the way of spanking hands for looking at something as natural as the tree or squirrel outside…and sometimes down where you’re protected from dominant hands that fondle you at night by people who are supposed to love you.

This is where the ideas of pedophilia, rape and incest are born and nurtured to their “fullest” potential.

If you couple this with the bear (the high testosterone, animal-based, power-hungry, dominant-obsessed men that control our culture of war, death and destruction - where man is “head of the household and he’ll make sure you know it.”), you have one hell of a person capable of nearly anything, including purposefully “dominating” other men through sex - and no, it’s not homosexuality and they will tell you that - it’s dominance and power, and they think, “I’ve f*cked that man in the a**, he knows it and I know it.  I’m in power and he submits to me.”  Imagine when they start mingling it with human nature/desire and see young fit boys…

If you couple the denial of human nature with dominance fantasies you get sick individuals who would nearly kill - and probably sometimes do - for the feeling of power and the drive toward satisfying human nature that has been blunted in normal and standard ways.

This is the reality that has been created.

So what are you going to do to fix it people?  You’re creating tomorrow’s sickos today.

  40. Mark Says :

When I looked at the posted list atop this page, I was mildly shocked. Some of those people I had no idea about.

When I got to the comments section, I shook my head in shame.

Nothing is more pathetic in my eyes (no, whether or not that matters to those above my post really doesn’t concern me, words have power, and you reading them gives me power over your moment. Owned), that a bunch of Americans bickering over something as inane, as utterly unapproachable, as contemptuously ignorant as this kind of garbage.

We are a nation at war in more ways than shrapnel. Our own streets at home and down the county line are overrun with sorrow, frustration, and the general need to “get mine”.

Although born and raised a Texan, I am disgusted with my country. People are dying. People are hurting. This shit above my post goes well beyond the donkey or the elephant. This is humanity doing what it does best, biting itself in the ass.

All of you, the ignorants, and those who tried to be intelligent and debate this with some semblance of civility, should be ashamed of yourselves. The world is bigger than “political ties”. The world is bigger than “revelations”. The world is bigger than petty rivalries between a two-party system which, quite frankly works best for those who control it, and that is irrefutable historical fact.

How many of you people are enjoying a better quality of life despite the current administration? How many of you, regardless of social status, financial security, or religious/poitical affiliation TRULY feel that, as a nation, we are ok?

Do people, such as some of you appear here, think that because you can buy a happy meal for your 3rd child in as many years on a whim is any indication of the United States fortunes? Do you sincerely believe we are going uphill or downhill?

You can sit around and armchair debate who stuck their winkie in who, and why, and how often, until your head explodes. But, the end result is the same:

    You are changing nothing.
    You are learning nothing.
You are affecting zero policy change.
You are not protecting your own future.
    You are not taking action.

And before it even starts in rebuttal, simply voting does nothing. Being active and taking control of your power as a citizen is more than a chad, a tick box, or whatever. It’s about FORCING change.

Debates like this one, across the whole of the net, are not affecting change. Instead, ego’s are bruised. Some dipshit in bumsville Idaho is sitting at his computer screen, screaming to the stuffed bear next to his machine, at people who, for all intents and purposes, couldn’t care if he lived or died.

Inaction, Bias, and blatant apathy is a worse crime than anything argued about here.

I do not stand up and applaude anyone who is a ped……republican or democrat…I do ,however applaude patriotism, and if others stand with me , the evil in both the Democratic and Republican Party’s will find their asses in the slammer where they belong….The point I am echoing here is too many times we sugar coat crimes with our political filters…. bluntly…..there are good and bad on both sides….lets throw politics to the side and take out the trash……isn’t that what we want???

The time of the self representing politition is over….I havent seen a good leader since the Hinckley bullet was fired, and from that day forward , we have been mis-represented…..yes of course there are earlier intances, but its been constant garbage since then……

in regard to a comment of focusing anger against Bush on the enemy overseas……

Isn’t that a typical Republican view point…. to anger Democrats to a point of fighting a war for the Republican talking heads….

Lets take off our rose colored glasses and we can both fight the tyranny together….

LOL to the above wordy soul that covered many subjects but called the guy next to him a complainer. BRAVO…to you. That was the best nicely put putdown I had read in a while.

Have any of you heard about the Cherry Marines? I say the abuse is a controlling device used in high places of power. Whether it is a State House ..or a JOB :) there is always that “sex factor”

How many Republican Parents are hiding this secret. My Father was big on terrorizing his kids, molesting them beating them. But man, they are real up standing folks….oh well the Father is dead and the mother still blames her kids for turning out like they did. So how many of US are there out there? My Republican Parents were so full of prejudice and hate…They had a lot of garbage they hauled around in their Psyche. From throwing a party when JFK was murdered…to molesting their kids while going to church and demanding to be respected.

I just thought it was a sickness until I read about Bohemean Grove. And then I heard the interview of Kay Griggs. It is a must see.It will make you wonder about how perverting this group in power is.

I have not ran into as much about Democrats in this position except of course  Clinton is accused of being a Preditor but….did he go after children?

  46. A rope leash Says :

After reading about the supressed Franklin scandal, the Catholic scandals, Skull and Bones, ect…I’ve come to believe that being a pedophile is a prime qualification for holding high office of any kind.  They are completely susceptable to blackmail, and will do the corporate bidding without complaint.

I know it sounds bizzare…but look at this list of those WHO GOT CAUGHT.  Many more crimes are committed than are prosecuted.  Think about it…there’s never any real change, for the right or the left.  They campaign saying they will do this or that, but when they get in, it’s all about their corporate masters. These crimes of theirs are hung over their heads constantly, making them perfect for remote control.

There is truly breathtaking hypocrisy among the entire ruling class.  The Foley scandal has been surfaced most likely in an effort to cloud the other events of this week…namely GWB signing his own Declaration of Dictatorship, the military detainees bill. I mean, come on, how does ABC get these IM messages and the information on their origin, just right at this time?

  47. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    Photog606,

Regardless, a search of “Republican pedophiles” vs “Democrat pedophiles” yields a ridiculously lopsided ratio. Since I’m not a Democrat myself, I don’t point it out to defend Democrats.

Sorry but a google search means nothing more than that there are more Democrats out there publicizing Republicans who have been caught dallying with kids than Republicans publicizing the same about Democrats. Particularly with the Foley thing now. Probably the vast majority of those are nothing more than references to the same persons. What I want is a scientific study that will prove your claim that there are more Republican pedophiles than Democrat pedophiles. Ditto with Christian verses non-Christian pedophiles.

Funny how Republicans get so bent out of shape about the politicalization of pedophilia since they have no problem politicizing their claim to have a monopoly on morale values - “Godless” liberals as Man Coulter might say.

I am not bent out of shape about the politicaliztion of pedophilia. I mentioned that it is obvious that it is being politicized.

I do not claim to have a monopoly on moral values. Morality can be approached from a number of angles. One does not need to be a religious person to be a moral person. There are plenty of Liberals who are religious. You’re not dealing with Ann Coulter here. You’re dealing with me and I like to see proof of claims made or at least credible evidence. So far I see a lot of assertions in the comments on this post with no attempts to offer evidence for those claims.

Thank you for the quotes. Would you be so kind as to give me citations for your quotes. If they are not online then I can go to the local University to look them up.

    Thanks.

People may be right, I don’t know. Maybe there are disproportionately more Christian pedophiles than non-Christian pedophiles and maybe there are more Republican pedophiles than Democrat pedophiles. If there are, there are. The thing is, I question bald assertions. I want to know if what people claim to be true really is.

I apologize–I’m at work and don’t have time to read all the comments, so I hope I’m not being redundant.

I think the purpose of a Republican list is because Republicans are so self-righteous.  They’ll speak condemnations against the very things they do.  Publicly they don’t condone any kind of sexual behavior except what they determine lies within the “norm.”  But in private, they do the very thing they condemn.

  59. NAR Says :

The thing that makes this list of Republican perverts more serious than any list of Democratic perverts is, the fact Republicans use the lie of supporting family values to trick gullible voters into giving them power.   Republicians claim they will protect the country from gays, lesbians, and abortion but, their real agenda is to rake in graft hand over fist (Abramoff, Cunningham, DeLay), wage war for profit (KBR, Cheney), use the United States Constitution for toilet paper (Patriot Act), alienate nearly every foreign country on the planet (Kyoto, Geneva, Abu Ghraib), put their incompetent friends into high-paying jobs (Brownie) – the list goes on.   They spend vast amounts of money to convince voters they are the party of God and a vote against the Republican party is a vote for Satan.  In fact, their ONLY concern is to maintain power in order to maintain their corrupt lifestyle.  Now, the right wingers are shocked to hear the party of God was putting protecting their power ahead of stopping a pedophile.  Well, ya know what?  You voted for this administration on blind faith, ignoring all the facts…  and you got what you deserved.  Trouble is, you stuck the rest of the world with your moral leadership.  Next time (if there is a next time), keep it to yourself!

  60. Angie Says :

Interesting list.  Altho as I have said many times, it’s a shame that it takes a republican politician to do such a thing for those on the left to take notice that children are being harmed.  They only rise up and post about such things when it is someone on the right, otherwise you never see them say a thing.  Daily in the news there is an article about a child being killed / raped / whatever, and nothing from anyone.  Yet now, it’s all over the place.  Shame.

  62. NAR Says :

Angie:  Actually, this list isn’t “all over the place.”  This is the only place I’ve seen it.  That is a shame.   It’s also a shame some people think of it as “interesting” rather than “appalling.”

  63. NAR Says :

Chas:  The name is “Frank” not “Franks” and the rest of your story is wrong too.  From Wikipedia:
In 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank when it was revealed that a male prostitute, Steve Gobie, that Rep. Frank had befriended after hiring him through a personal advertisement, had conducted a prostitution ring from Frank’s apartment when he was not at home. Frank had dismissed Gobie earlier that year after learning of Gobie’s activities.

Frank was NOT running the prostitution ring and he took action to dismiss Gobie when he found it out.  Not quite the same response the Republicans took when they found out about Foley.

  65. Makhno Says :

Chas, if you click on the names listed, you will be taken to the original sources for the information.  There IS documentation.  Anyway, this problem is a minor diversion — the real problem with the Repiglicunts is, of course, that they lied to start an illegal war, have killed tens of thousands of innocent beings, and continue to lie.  Foley may be a pedophile, but Bush is a war criminal and a menace to world peace.  It is, however, interesting to note that prominent Nazis like Ernst Roehm were notorious pedophiles.  He became such an embarrasment to Hitler that he was purged in the “night of the Long Knives.”  I guess Bush will be doing the same with the molesters in his party.  However, the point is well taken that this problem is probably not an exclusively Repiglicunt problem — the Democruds, I’m sure, have as many filthy sickos in their own ranks.  The Democruds are worthless — they voted for Bush’s war.  The whole government needs to go.  Personally, I will not be happy until the last politician is hanged on the guts of the last cop.

Any study into the the beliefs or party of people who commit crimes is irrelevant, unless we want to start tossing out the whole barrel because of one bad apple. Now, that would be just-plain unconsititutional. ;)

  71. Barney Frank Gerry Studds Says :

Yes, Barney Frank is gay, however he claimed to know nothing about his prostitute using his apartment for a whore house while Barney was away.  There’s a difference in that & heading the committee to keep children safe from exploitation @ exploiting them at the same time. Foley even said he took a minor, page John out “cruising” in his BMW & ate @ Morton’s.  10 years after Studds & the 17 yo page had a sexual relationship was it mentioned, but why? Studds & the 27 yo even had a conference claiming that it was consensual.  McGreevey resigned, not because he was a latent homosexual adulterer but because he gave his male Israeli lover a well-paying job!  The big difference here is hypocrisy.  The Republican party is all about morality & “family values” yet, they live by the “do as I say not as I do” approach.

  72. Juanita McKenzie Says :

Re: ’Republican Pedophiles - A Long But Distinguished List’ is, to say the least eye opening. It’s very interesting that the party of anti - gay everything, anti - abortion and (supposedly) high family values has such a long and sorted history of it’s own members. Like every other progressive I’d love to jump on the bandwagon and help kick these unforgiving Republicans right in the ass. But before I do any kicking while they are down, a correction in this list must be made. If there has to be a list it has to be accurate. I must insist that at least one name be removed. A list like this, although fun for a minute, can be and is very dangerous. I haven’t gone though the entire list yet to check for accuracy but you can bet I’m going to. We as progressives can not loose sight of the ultimate goal of an open and honest government. For us to lead by example we must remain fair, stay open minded, be honest and just but above all we must maintain INTEGRITY at all cost. If Democrats are to win back the House I’d rather it be due to the voters choice than by self implosion of the Republicans. Lets not ever forget that such a list can be made also of Democrats. Hypocrisy knows no party, it’s a human flaw. In the interest of truth and justice the name that needs to be removed is that of Paul Ingram. His case was and remains controversial and bizarre involving supposed incest, satanic rituals and alleged sexual abuse. Ingram was the top civil Sheriff’s Deputy and the head of the Republican Party of Thurston County, Washington. The details of this case are much too long and much too deep for me to give a whole and accurate account here. Highly respected and noted author Lawrence Wright wrote the book “Remembering Satan: A Case of Recovered Memory and the Shattering of an American Family” that details the case in full. I urge everyone to google the name Paul Ingram and read for yourself how a false confession, sloppy therapy, the implanting of false memory by a ‘Christan psychologist’ and Ingram’s own minister caused an innocent man to serve 14 of a 20 year sentence. After his confession more unproven allegations made by Ingram’s daughters were that he and numerous deputies of the Sheriff’s department had engaged in satanic rituals including the sacrifice of babies. The daughters also claimed that they were impregnated several times by these men and several times given abortions by their father in the alleged rituals. When physical examinations were finally performed both girls showed no physical evidence of abuse, sexual or otherwise of any kind. In fact it was determined that the youngest daughter was still a virgin. Paul Ingram was convicted anyway. The case is now considered an example of a modern day witch hunt. Ingram was either given a pardon or granted clemency by the Governor. He was released from prison in 1994.

  73. eh Says :

“When voters step into the quite privacy of the voting booth, they’re going to say…who will keep America safer, Republicans or Cut and Run Democrats…and they already know the answer.”

Well let’s check the recent headlines to see how the GOP is doing on national security.

3 School shootings in the past few months. No child left behind without being shot by GOP/NRA endorsed murderers?

And a republican in charge of the child exploitation initiative who is caught sexing up a 16 year old child of the same sex….the fox guarding the hen house!?

Whoa…and where the hell did the World Trade Center go? There used to be one during the Clinton years…

Yeah the GOP is great on national security if death and destruction of our youth and property are the defining criteria.

  74. The Path Says :

The Grand Old Predators are alive and well in 2006, the FOX guards the Bush house, and the moral majority is crapping its collective pants as a pedophile has stalked the House of the People of the United States. The GOP says its going to protect us from our enemies who terrorize us, but what happens when a member of that same body is terrorizing a young child, is this not terroism in its worst most vulgar form?

Democrat or Republican, all of you should be ashamed of politicizing a crime against a child. Foley has done the GOP a favor by resigning, but he needs to stand before a court and be judged. All those who havwe covered his tracks for the past few years, they will be tormented by their own self doubt and that will feed into everything they do from now and into the future, canthese people be trusted to govern? Anyone who knows an adult who was molested or raped as a child knows what a traumatic affect this will have on the future adult, how they will not be able to cope with day to day relationships, how they will have bouts of addictions, be it alcohol, drugs, religion or sex.  After addiction comes depression and seeking mental counseling, and if they are lucky they might recver to lead somewhat normal lives, many never recover emotionally. Think about it, think about the people you actually know.

The parents of the child will bury themselves, and deny that this has happened to ‘their child’ and soon he will not exist to them the way that he was, and conflics will rise, That is the future that worms like Mark Foley have created. He’s the victim of a crime for which he probably never got help for, but now he will be punished for what he has done. Temptaion was too much for him. Will he be forgiven?

  75. Glynn Anglin Says :

Republican Politicians aren’t the only ones involved in sexual misconduct, but of course the Liberal media won’t remind you of the following individuals and there conduct, because there Democrats. This isn’t meant to make an excuse of Rep. Mark Foley’s behavior, he should have and did resign unlike the Democrats listed below. It’s solely meant to point out how the Liberal media shows favoritism to Democrats, but attacks Republicans like a Lion on fresh meat.

1.Melvin J. Reynolds - Democratic Congressperson from Illinois - bank fraud; convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Jump to: navigation, search

Melvin Jay “Mel” Reynolds (born January 8, 1952) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from the state of Illinois. Reynolds currently works for Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition.

Reynolds was born in Mound Bayou, Mississippi and he graduated from Roosevelt University and the University of Illinois. An academic achiever, he won a Rhodes Scholarship to Lincoln College in the University of Oxford.

Reynolds was unsuccessful in his 1986, 1988 and 1990 campaigns against Congressman Gus Savage. However, Reynolds was able to defeat Savage in 1992. He served in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995.

In August of 1994, he was indicted for having sex with a sixteen year old campaign volunteer yet was allowed to continue running for re-election. In November of 1994 he was reelected. Reynolds initially denied what he claimed were racially motivated charges. On August 22, 1995 he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned his seat on October 1, 1995.

Reynolds was sentenced to five years in prison and expected to be released in 1998. However, in April of 1997, he was convicted on fifteen counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators and as a result, was sentenced to an additional six and a half years in federal prison. After serving 42 months of his 78 month sentence, U.S. President Bill Clinton commuted his sentence and Reynolds served the balance in a half way house. Mel Reynolds served his entire sentence on the original charges.

In 2004, he was overwhelmingly defeated by Jesse Jackson, Jr. in his attempt to win back his old House seat.

    2.Barney Frank

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frank is a prominent figure in the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, and has been outspoken on many human rights issues, as well as on issues of gay and lesbian rights. In 1987, he spoke publicly about his homosexuality for the first time. He said in a 1996 interview: “I’m used to being in the minority. I’m a left-handed gay Jew. I’ve never felt, automatically, a member of any majority.”

The Boston Globe, among others, called on Frank to resign, but he refused. The House Ethics Committee recommended Frank be reprimanded because he “reflected discredit upon the House” by using his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie’s parking tickets. Attempts to expel or censure Frank failed; instead the House voted 408-18 to reprimand him. This condemnation was not reflected in Frank’s district, where he won re-election in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, and has won by larger margins ever since.

    3.”Bill” Clinton

    The Lewinsky scandal

    Main article: Lewinsky scandal

In 1998, as a result of allegations that he had lied during grand jury testimony regarding his sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a young female White House intern, Clinton was the second U.S. president to be impeached by the House of Representatives.

    4. Gary Adrian Condit

He was elected to represent California’s 18th Congressional district in a special election in 1989. In 1995 he helped found the so-called “Blue Dog Democrats,” a voting coalition of conservative and moderate congressmen. Despite the Levy scandal, Condit ran for Congress again in 2002; he was defeated in the Democratic primary by Dennis Cardoza, a former member of Condit’s own staff.

In May 2001, Condit became the subject of national news coverage, after the disappearance of Chandra Levy, a Washington, D.C. intern originally from Condit’s district. Levy is believed to have been Condit’s mistress.

While Condit was never an official suspect in the disappearance, Levy’s family (and subsequently the national media) suspected that Condit was withholding important information about the intern’s disappearance. Suspicion was deepened when Condit tried to avoid answering direct questions during a televised interview with news anchor Connie Chung on August 23, 2001. This followed news reports that Condit had an affair with flight attendant, Anne Marie Smith [1].

  76. Juanita McKenzie Says :

To answer ’your so called list of Democrats’ Re: Reynolds. If voters re-elect a Senator or Congressman after they have been convicted of a crime, so be it. That is the voters choice and part of the democratic system. (I thought it was a federal law that a convicted felon couldn’t hold an elected position ?) Look at voters in D.C. who re-elected Marion Barry as Mayor after his conviction on drug charges. Recently he was re-elected (2nd term) as a city councilman to one of the poorest neighborhoods in D.C. I don’t agree with the tradition of an out going president handing out pardons the last few days he’s in office. A few of the pardons are deserving & sometimes even expected but most are just plain wrong. By ‘expected’ I mean Clinton’s brother Roger (DUI charge?). Then again what’s the use of being President of the United States of America if you can’t pardon your own brother ? Or for that matter, get a blow job in the Oval office ? I’m only half kidding on these. It’s been said before: “Clinton’s lies didn’t get anyone killed”. Which is not an excuse by any means, but it is true, like it or not. Re: Barney Frank. Frank is a good man, just a gay man. Doesn’t the very term ‘representative’ mean just that ? A representative of the district they serve and were elected to ? A reflection of the majority. No corruption allegations here. Maybe his biggest crime was that he was naive at the time, I’ll bet he isn’t any more. Re: Gary Condit: he was never an official suspect in Chandra’s disappearance. A very stupid man if you ask me or not a very good actor when lying. He most likely was having an affair with her and honestly didn’t know where she was or what happened to her. When asked about his relationship with her is when he needed to step up to the plate and have the integrity to tell everything even if it meant admitting to an affair. But his only thoughts were to preserve himself and not of Chandra or her well being. All he ended up doing was cause the investigation to turn in a different direction therefore wasting valuable time in the search. He revealed his true self as the heel he is and it wasn’t pretty. One would hope that a person in his position would want to help, but not this guy. In the end he made himself look guilty and revealed on national TV to millions that he was a liar. Good riddance to bad rubbish. To make this scandal partisan is a great disservice to the voters, to our democratic system, and our already fledgling image to the rest of the world. Pedophilia is NOT a Democratic OR Republican condition but a very flawed and perverted human condition.  ** Note to Glynn  Anglin: Next time don’t be so sure of yourself when you hit the submit comment button because you needed to hit the spell check button first ! lol

  77. Lydia Says :

The list is very disturbing.  I’m sure democrats have a list too.  That’s why I quit voting because all politicians are crooks, cowards, evil, perverted, liars, and criminals.  Can’t get involved with that sort of partying, government, religion, or status quo.  The Vatican does it too.  So do baptist ministers, jewish rabbis, and evangelicles.

Why doesn’t somebody campaign to get the TV to quit soliciting dick hardener prescriptions.  That’s one reason there are so many sick males out there.  This world disgusts me and those who vote without knowing their candidtates’ backgrounds truly disgust me.

Take the so called “democratic election” and cram it up Bush’s ass!!

  78. Lydia Says :

I typed my views but your site would not allow my comment.  What a bunch of censorship!!!!

  79. DaftAida Says :

Oh, that we had names within the British Parliament!  It doesn’t matter which party or religion they claim to support, it’s all the ’smarty party’ taking us all down the tube - which colour do you prefer?  It doesn’t matter whether they claim to be gay or straight, black or white, male or female.   What matters is that our world is being run with our consent by psychopaths raping and killing our children and what does that make us?

  80. Judanne Simpson Says :

Why aren’t there any dates on when these events happened?  Were they recent or long ago?  For all we know they may all be historical records.  (I’m not a memeber of any US political party, by the way)

  81. Juanita ** Says :

To Lydia:  I said in my comment that the Democrats could have a list too. It’s too bad that you let the dishonest politicians ‘win’ by you not voting any more. By that choice you have chosen to allow others to decided for you. I strongly disagree with your assumption that ALL politicians are crooks, cowards, perverts,  etc ….  every voter must do their homework on the issues and on the candidates running for whatever office. I understand this takes a bit of time and energy but so does everything else in life that’s worth while. Thanks to the Internet one can learn about and track a Senator or a House Representative and how they vote by going to gov.org. In the interest of sounding like a ’Get Out the Vote’ bumper sticker, let me remind you that to be born in this country is right from the start, the best luck of the draw one could ever hope for. Thousands upon thousands of men and women have given their very lives for us to enjoy the freedoms that we take for granted everyday. People in countries such as China and Cuba could not imagine NOT voting (if they were ever given the chance) just because some politician lined their own pocket from an unethical real estate deal or because a politician sent e-mails with sexual intent to minors. We have never experienced corruption on the same level as say, Haiti or Uganda or many others. The grand poo bah of all rights is always the right to vote for your own leaders. These countries have dictators or presidents who are in office for life. If you don’t care for George Bush, it’s OK and not life threatening because his term will be over soon and we’ll have someone else to take his place. If you don’t trust the Democrats or the Republicans then vote Independent. But vote. To really shove this election up George Bush’s ass is to vote and change the majority in both Houses of Congress. But to not take part in this most scared of rights in YOUR own democracy is either because you’re too ignorant or too lazy. The same can’t be said of reglious leaders. But they don’t have much to say about our daily lives anyway. Since you feel so strongly about them, don’t go to their church. As far as TV ads go, I think I’ll take back why you don’t vote anymore. It’s because you’re too ignorant !

  82. Glynn Anglin Says :

For all you Left Wing Liberals who think Republicans are the only ones in Politics involved in Sexual miconduct, take a look below.

Here’s some Democrats you can be proud of:

William Jefferson Clinton: In Jan. 1998, Clinton was called to testify in a long-pending sexual harassment suit brought against him by Paula Corbin Jones, a former Arkansas state employee. The hearing also addressed another scandalous relationship, and in his testimony, Clinton denied that he had had a sexual relationship with a young White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, and that he had attempted to cover it up. Although a federal judge in Arkansas threw out the Jones sexual harassment suit in April 1998, by this time the Lewinsky affair had become the focus of Kenneth Starr’s investigation as well as a national obsession.

Finally, on Aug. 17, 1998, after relentless media attention, leaks, and news of Lewinsky’s upcoming testimony, Clinton made history by becoming the first U.S. president to testify in front of a grand jury in an investigation of his own possibly criminal conduct. In an address to the nation that evening, he admitted to having had an “inappropriate relationship” with Lewinsky.

Faced with overwhelming evidence, he apologized to the nation, agreed to pay a $25,000 court fine, settled his sexual harassment lawsuit with Paula Jones for $850,000 and was temporarily disbarred, for a period of five years, from practicing law in Arkansas and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He was not tried for perjury in a court. However, he did admit to “testifying falsely” in a carefully worded statement as part of a deal to avoid indictment for perjury.

BOSTON —  Former U.S. Rep. Gerry Studds (search), the first openly gay member of Congress, quietly married his longtime partner last year after same-sex marriage became legal in Massachusetts, according to a published report.

Studds, a liberal Democrat who spent more than 20 years in Congress, married Dean Hara in Boston on May 24, the Patriot Ledger of Quincy reported Sunday.

Studds, 68, and Hara, 47, declined to comment for the Ledger’s story.

First elected to Congress in 1973, Studds built a loyal constituency that returned him to Washington with an average of nearly 70 percent of the vote over 12 elections.

That loyalty was tested in 1983 when it was revealed that Studds had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page. He publicly acknowledged being gay and was censured by the House for sexual misconduct.

Studds admitted an error in judgment but did not apologize, and in 1984 was re-elected with 56 percent of the vote.

Tuesday is the one-year anniversary of legal gay marriage (search) in Massachusetts. More than 6,000 same-sex couples have gotten married in the past year.

    REP. BARNEY FRANK (D-Mass.):
In response to a story in the Aug. 25, 1989, Washington Times, Frank confirmed that he hired Steve Gobie, a male prostitute, in 1985 to live with and work for him in his D.C. apartment. But Frank, who is gay, said he fired Gobie in 1987 when he learned he was using the apartment to run a prostitution service. The Boston Globe, among others, called on Frank to resign, but he refused. On July 19, 1990, the ethics committee recommended Frank be reprimanded because he “reflected discredit upon the House” by using his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie’s parking tickets. Attempts to expel or censure Frank failed; instead the House voted 408-18 to reprimand him. The fury in Washington was not shared in Frank’s district, where he won reelection in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, and has won by larger margins ever since.

    Rep. Wilbur Mills (D-Ark.)
On Oct. 9, 1974, Mills, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and perhaps the most powerful member of the House, was stopped for speeding near the Jefferson Memorial at 2 a.m. Shortly after, Annabella Battistella – a stripper who went by the stage-name of Fanne Foxe,
the “Argentine Firecracker” – jumped out of his car and into the Potomac River tidal basin. The incident did not immediately threaten Mills, whose district was solidly Democratic. But Mills won reelection with only 59 percent of the vote, his lowest total ever. Within weeks, Mills appeared on a Boston stage carousing with Foxe, apparently intoxicated. Faced with an uprising among House Democrats, Mills was forced to resign as Ways and Means chairman, and in 1976 he announced he would not seek another term, ending his 38-year House career. He was succeeded by Jim Guy Tucker, whose own ethics got the attention of Kenneth Starr some two decades later.

    Rep. Wayne Hays (D-Ohio)
In its May 23, 1976, editions, The Washington Post quoted Elizabeth Ray as saying that she was a secretary for the House Administration Committee, headed by Hays, despite the fact that “I can’t type, I can’t file, I can’t
even answer the phone.” She said the main responsibility of her $14,000-a-year job was to have sex with Hays. The fall of Hays, an arrogant bully who was one of the most powerful – and disliked – members of Congress, was rapid. The House ethics committee opened its investigation on June 2. He resigned as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on June 3. In the Democratic primary five days later, a car-wash manager/bartender who had run against Hays four previous times and never received more than 20 percent of the vote got 39 percent. Hays later resigned his committee chairmanship, dropped his reelection bid, and finally resigned on September 1.

    Rep. John Young (D-Tex.)
On June 11, 1976, Colleen Gardner, a former staff secretary to Young, told the New York Times that Young increased her salary after she gave in to his sexual advances. In November, Young, who had run unopposed in the safe Democratic district five consecutive times, was reelected with just 61 percent of the vote. The scandal wouldn’t go away, and in 1978 Young was defeated in a Democratic primary runoff.

    Rep. Allan Howe (D-Utah)
On June 13, 1976, Howe was arrested in Salt Lake City on charges of soliciting two policewomen posing as prostitutes. Howe insisted he was set up and refused to resign. But the Democratic Party distanced itself from his candidacy and he was trounced by his Republican opponent in the November election.

    Rep. Fred Richmond (D-N.Y.)
In April 1978, Richmond was arrested in Washington for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old boy. Richmond apologized for his actions, conceding he “made bad judgments involving my private life.” In spite of a Democratic primary opponent’s attempts to cash in on the headlines, Richmond easily won renomination and reelection. But his career came to an end four years later when, after pleading guilty to possession of marijuana and tax evasion – and amid allegations that he had his staff procure cocaine for him – he resigned his seat.

    Sen. Brock Adams (D-Wash.)
On Sept. 27, 1988, Seattle newspapers reported that Kari Tupper, the daughter of Adams’s longtime friends, filed a complaint against the Washington Democrat in July of 1987, charging sexual assault. She claimed she went to Adams’s house in March 1987 to get him to end a pattern of harassment, but that he drugged her and assaulted her. Adams denied any sexual assault, saying they only talked about her employment opportunities. Adams continued raising campaign funds and declared for a second term in February of 1992. But two weeks later the Seattle Times reported that eight other women were accusing Adams of sexual molestation over the past 20 years, describing a history of drugging and subsequent rape. Later that day, while still proclaiming his innocence, Adams ended his campaign.

    Rep. Jim Bates (D-Calif.)
Roll Call quoted former Bates aides in October 1988 saying that the San Diego Democrat made sexual advances toward female staffers. Bates called it a GOP-inspired smear campaign, but also apologized for anything he did that might have seemed inappropriate. The story came too close to Election Day to damage Bates, who won easily. However, the following October the ethics committee sent Bates a “letter of reproval” directing him to make a formal apology to the women who filed the complaint. Although the district was not thought to be hospitable to the GOP, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, a former Navy pilot who was once shot down over North Vietnam, ousted Bates in 1990 by fewer than 2,000 votes.

    Rep. Gus Savage (D-Ill.)
The Washington Post reported on July 19, 1989, that Savage had fondled a Peace Corps volunteer while on an official visit to Zaire. Savage called the story a lie and blamed it on his political enemies and a racist media. (Savage is black.) In January 1990, the House ethics committee decided that the events did occur, but decided against any disciplinary action because Savage wrote a letter to the woman saying he “never intended to offend” her. Savage was reelected in 1990, but finally ousted in the 1992 primary by Mel Reynolds.

    Sen. Charles Robb (D-Va.)
On April 25, 1991, with NBC News about to go on the air with allegations he had an extramarital affair with Tai Collins, a former Miss Virginia, Robb made a preemptive strike. The Virginia Democrat, married to Lyndon Johnson’s daughter, said he was with Collins in a hotel room, but all that took place was a massage over a bottle of wine. Collins, in a subsequent interview with Playboy, said they had been having an affair since 1983. It was thought that these charges, along with long-circulated but unproven allegations that Robb had attended Virginia Beach parties where cocaine was present, would jeopardize Robb’s 1994 bid for re-election. But the GOP nominated Oliver North, the Iran-Contra figure who had his own credibility problems. Robb squeaked by with 46 percent in a three-way race.

    Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii)
In October 1992, Republican Senate nominee Rick Reed began running a campaign commercial that included a surreptitiously taped interview with Lenore Kwock, Inouye’s hairdresser. Kwock said Inouye had sexually forced himself on her in 1975 and continued a pattern of sexual harassment, even as Kwock continued to cut his hair over the years. Inouye, seeking a sixth term, denied the charges. And Kwock said that by running the commercial, Reed had caused her more pain than Inouye had. Reed was forced to pull the ad, and while many voters took out their anger on the Republican, Inouye was held to 57 percent of the vote – the lowest total of his career. A week later, a female Democratic state legislator announced that she had heard from nine other women who claimed Inouye had sexually harassed them over the past decade. But the women didn’t go public with their claims, the local press didn’t pursue the story, and the Senate Ethics Committee decided to drop the investigation because the accusers wouldn’t participate in an inquiry.

    Rep. Mel Reynolds (D-Ill.)
Freshman Reynolds was indicted on Aug. 19, 1994, on charges of having sex with a 16-year-old campaign worker and then pressuring her to lie about it. Reynolds, who is black, denied the charges and said the investigation was racially motivated. The GOP belatedly put up a write-in candidate for November, but Reynolds dispatched him in the overwhelmingly Democratic district with little effort. Reynolds was convicted on Aug. 22, 1995 of 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography, was sentenced to five years in prison, and resigned his seat on October 1.

Gary Condit - Democrat - US Democratic Congressman from California. Condit had an affair with an intern. Condit, covered up the affair and lied to police after she went missing. No charges were ever filed against Condit. Her remains were discovered in a Washington DC park..

James McGreevey - Democrat - New Jersey Governor . Admitted to having a gay affair. Resigned after allegations of sexual harassment, rumors of being blackmailed on top of fundraising investigations and indictments.

Jesse Jackson - Democrat - Democratic candidate for President. Admitted to having an extramarital affair and fathering a illegitimate child.

Neil Goldschmidt - Democrat - Oregon governor. Admitted to having an illegal sexual relationship with a 14-year-old teenager while he was serving as Mayor of Portland.

David Giles - Democrat - candidate for U.S. Representative from Washington in 1986 and 1990. Convicted in June 2000 of child rape.

  83. Mr. Unite Us Says :

Glynn the issue here and with Foley is pedophilia, not sexual misconduct in general.

I’m sure a look at your own family tree would include some sexual misconduct among adults.

House speaker Speaker Livingston was replaced by Hastert because of sexual misconduct.

House speaker Newt Gingrich asked his 2nd wife for a divorce while she was on her death

dying of cancer.  Why because he wanted to marry another woman?

After Foley gate erupted, right wing talk show host were saying what about Studds about Studds, what about Studds, that Democrat back in 1983.  So since right wingers chose to play that came then its only reasonable that someone  would compile a list of Republican pedophiles.

Especially since Republicans claim to be morally superior.

  84. Craig R. Harmon Says :

    Mr. Unite Us,

I’m even wondering about the pedophilia thing. For example, so far, the only one who has come forward alleging sex with Foley is a former page who was, at the time of the sex, 21 years of age. While the IMs were randy and sexually explicit, they were sent to 16 year olds who were old enough to have consented to have sex with Foley in Washington D. C., if they had decided to have sex together. So…does sending sexually explicit IMs to an of-age teen make him a pedophile? I mean, questions of the propriety of such communications with those in a page program by someone in a superior position aside.

That’s right, politicize the whole thing. No wonder this crap goes on, and even grows…AS IT HAS SINCE  I WAS A KID! As long as sides are taken, and fights go on between the left/right, male/female, old/young,blah, blah, blah, this will continue to flourish. Wake the hell up!!!

To follow up on my last post, one of the oldest warfare tactics known to mankind…DIVIDE & CONQUER…thus, the endless list… black/white, Christian/Moslem/Jew,Catholic/Protestant,rich/poor,old/new,smoker/non-smoker,&on, and on, and on!

Thank you for posting that list.  It might point up to a lot of people that their Republican “heroes” are not necessarily on the straight and narrow.  I am sure we could have a similiar list of Democrats,  I remember a fundamental minister and I talking and he was discussing all the Catholic sexual charges.  I mentioned that Christian ministers of every Christian sect were also heavily involved in pedophile behavior.  He angrily denied it.  I found a list of 1000’s (thousands) of fundamental ministers that had been arrested and convicted of pedophile behavior and sex with undersage children.  It is everywhere and no group can claim innocence.  You might ponder my assertion that everyone of clerical capacity in the Catholic Church is well aware of the sexual mis-conduct surrounding them…be it priest, nun, brother…whatever.  Tell me?  How can anyone then be worthy of your confession?  If you are all guilty of complicity, then there is no one to forgive you.

To Craig R. Harmon- To answer the comment you posted on Oct.9, 2006: Yes, you are right. It does appear that former Congressman Mark Foley may not have broken any laws in Washington D.C. or anywhere else for that matter, given the ages of the pages. But remember the investigation is not over yet. The e-mails and instant messages are inapproate by any measure but true, not an illegal crime. To me and I’m guessing to the majority, what does make Mark Foley so inhepreemsible is the fact that he had co-chaired the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus. One of the missions of the caucus was to toughen state law (in Florida only?) regarding Internet predators trolling for minors to engage in sex. Before this story broke and to make matters worse (for) Foley, with cameras rolling, made statements to the press such as “with this new law today is the worst day in the lives of Internet predators”. When George Bush signed the Internet Predators bill into law, a table and chair for the president was placed, I believe in the rose garden, for the photo opt. Among several guest invited for the signing and standing next to Bush was John Welsh and Erin Runyon mother of (sexually molested and murdered 6 yr. old) Samantha Runyon. And who’s smiling face was there in the mix next to Welsh & Runyon ? You guessed it, Mark Foley ! Actually it’s a little too bad Foley (most likely) won’t be convicted and sentenced under the law(s) he helped to bring about. What sweeter justice and irony could there be for the likes of Mark Foley ?

A very comprehensive list.  I have viewed a list similar to this before.  It does appear that those republican family values include quite often a little bit of “touchy feely” with children.  I might even blog about this myself  :)

Ok, does it really matter what political party a child molestor belongs to? The real focus should be that CHILDREN are being abused. You all are focusing on the wrong issue here arguing on which party has the most child molesters, Doesn’t matter which, what matters is that people stop turning a blind eye to it when it suits their agendas.

Instead of arguing about it then do something, anything to stop it. Make those ppl accountable for their actions, or in the case of those who knew and did nothing make them accountable for their inaction.

One thing that needs to be changed is that anyone in Congress or the Senate who has been convicted of ANYTHING does not receive the life time pension (or their spouse) from Congress or the Senate. Or any member who leaves their ELECTED office under Any sex scandle. Maybe too broad of a stroke ? No pun intended. Anyone agree ?
