My (Muslim) Heroes!
December 21st, 2006 | by Craig R. Harmon |Lest anyone suppose that all Muslims are Holocaust deniers, there is this in refutation:
If anyone wants to make Holocaust denial an Islamic cause, he said, “we want to say to them: You cannot use our name.”
I spend a fair amount of words condemning Islamic militancy and violent reactions to things like Muhammad cartoons, treatment of women in many Islamic societies, etc. and not nearly enough time and words about positive stories involving Muslims. This one is worth reading. Yes, Virginia, there really are Muslims who aren’t for the mass extermination of Jews.
I just thought that needed to be said.

Great story, Craig. To me, Islam isn’t the problem. It’s those bastards (like Ahmadinejad) who pervert it for their own power and wealth.

Thanks. Americans need to read stories like this. The article says:
Really? I didn’t know that. Why not? It’s not like I have my head stuck in the sand. I keep track of major news stories. I knew of the Holocaust denying conference with Ahmadinejad and Duke, why didn’t I know of the condemnations from “[m]ajor American Muslim and Arab-American organizations”? That should be the headline under which we learn that, by the way, prompting these condemnations was the dangerous and history-mutilating meeting of Holocaust deniers hosted by the head of state that vows to rub an entire nation off the map and finish what Hitler left undone.

But that wouldn’t have been as good a headline.

Wow Craig, I missed that article today. Thanks for highlighting it. Anybody that denies the holocaust should at least be put through the gas chamber we went through in bootcamp to wake their ass’s up!

Paul W.,
Yeh, well, that’s why I’m not a headline editor at a major newspaper. :^)
Steve O.,
You’re welcome. Thanks for putting the post up on the front page.
